Happy DUMPLINGS Festival!

我很庆幸自己在传统的家庭长大,每年的佳节都会自己准备汤圆、粽子等等。农历新年还会通宵接财神,玩烟花棒...今年的端午节,阿姨和我都请了假在家包粽子!

家里每年风雨不改,只做三种粽子:
·碱水粽
·肉粽
·豆粽

每次到广州探望舅母时,她总会要我带粽子回来。可是他们的粽子真的大得我吃不下,里头的馅料只有三层肉而已,吃半粒我就已经撑不下去。

我们家的肉粽和豆粽其实材料大同小异,只是豆粽的糯米加入红豆而以,里头全有栗子、三层肉、蚝干,和香菇。糯米饭经过酱油和胡椒粉翻炒,味道比较香。

每年许多酒楼和餐馆都会推出另类口味的粽子。今年就看到了红糟香肉粽、鱼翅粽、鲈鱼粽、黑蒜烟肉粽、鲍鱼红谷粽、黑猪肉栗子粽、梅菜扣肉粽等等,其实我最喜欢的,还是最传统的肉粽。

左邻右舍都把门关紧紧,惟有我们还保留传统,坚决在走廊用火炭煮粽子。电梯门一打开,就能闻到香喷喷的粽味!

我只喜欢吃自己家包的粽子。碱水粽沾糖享用,肉粽配茶一起吃。一家人开开心心一起包粽子、煮粽子、吃粽子...

my mum attended a rice dumpling making course recently, but we didn't manage to make any in time for this year/s dumpling festival as we don't have a pressure cooker or a large enough pot to cook them in. maybe i could try cooking them the way you did!

hello stargirl, wow where did ur mummy attend this course?

yup, u should try using charcoal to cook the dumplings, brings out the flavour of the leaves.

PA was holding rice dumpling making courses earlier this month. my mum went for the one at Tampines North CC.

btw, PA's courses are considerably cheaper than those from cooking schools- the one she attended cost $35.

i see! eh but PA courses hor, isit those sit down, take recipe, see trainer cook, then at the end of it eat together?

i very scared to go for PA cooking course. some cooking schools one make sure u do all the steps together with the trainer! :D
