Do you have a childhood dream? My childhood dream is be work in a waffle shop. I am serious. I love eating waffles. When I was young, my Mum would always give me money to queue for super yummy waffle from a local brand. Since then, I told me Mum that I want to work in a waffle shop so that I can make waffles.

My love for waffles continue till now. And because I love waffles so much, I would drag the boyfriend to different waffle shops to eat waffles. And I nearly bought a Belgium waffle maker for myself as Christmas present.

There are many variations based on the type of iron and recipe used, Belgian waffles are waffles made with a crispy golden brown exterior and a light, fluffy interior while American waffles are generally denser and thinner than the Belgian waffle.

So anyway, there is a new waffle place called “Createaf Waffles” in The Cathay and we went to try!

Createaf Waffles' Floss Waffle

Opened for barely less than 2 weeks, owners Jimmy and Angelia are also waffle lovers but they can’t find a desired waffle in Singapore. They wanted their waffles to be crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. So they opened Createaf.

Indulge in a delicious treat of 11 different kinds of waffles to choose from at Createaf Waffles! The waffles from Createaf has sweet and savoury toppings for you to choose from. We had the Chicken Sausage and Floss Waffle ($9.90). The waffle texture is like moist sponge with a crispy exterior. Each bite was pillowy.

Createaf Waffles' Merry Berry

Most of the time, I prefer eating my waffle plain so that I can really taste the texture of the waffle. But this time, because I want it to look pretty in photos, I chose Merry Berry ($9.90), which is made up of strawberries, blueberries and an ice cream flavour of your choice. The shop makes their own ice cream and their flavours include belgium chocolate, macademia, cookies and cream.

Createaf Waffles' Frappe

Sweet tooth diners will love their Frappe ($4.90) with flavours such as Caramel Tea, Hazelnut Tea, Matcha Tea, Mango etc. Because the owners are tea lovers as well, so they also have more than 20 Single Estate Teas and Floral Teas. They currently have a Waffle Set ($12.50) which offers waffle with their signature ice cream and a drink.

I was hoping to see more creative variety of waffles, you know, something like Strictly Pancakes kind. But considering they are only opened for about 2 weeks, so I guess they are still working on the menu.
