My favourite dish for the party is Beef Shepherd’s Pie ($32.80/1.5kg). Tender grass-fed minced beef is cooked with an array of vegetables layered between creamy mashed potatoes. Baked to perfection with mozzarella and parmesan cheese, this is festive comfort food at its best! If you are not a beef lover, they offer Chicken Shephard’s Pie ($32.80/1.5kg) as well.

Honestly, I always thought The Soup Spoon only sell soups and I was really surprised by their extensive range of Xmas offerings. Plus, they also have very beautiful logcake. We tried the Mango Mousse Log Cake ($68/0.9kg) which is a refreshing mango-coated vanilla sponge cake filled with mango mousse.

Pâtisserie Glacé was started in 2008 with the aim of bringing the best of Japan’s cakes, pies and cookies and tarts to Singapore. Chef Tomoko helms it. From inception of Pâtisserie Glacé to the current daily operation, Chef Tomoko and her staff have been intimately and passionately involved in getting all the products taste like they would in Japan. The style of Glacé’s pastries resonates with her core beliefs that the ingredients must be of the highest quality without any preservatives, creations that a mother will serve her child.

We really love Christmas Yuzu Roll ($38 for 5pax, $75 for 12pax). Their delicious green tea sponge cake is rolled with pear slices,chocolate sponge for accent and smothered with right amount of yuzu fresh cream. It makes this a refreshing treat during the holidays. We love the contrast of the delightfully fluffy cream against the crisp meringue.

Christmas Regalia ($40 for 5pax, $65 for 8 pax, $80 for 12pax) is a heavy-hitter for chocolate lovers. Chocolate roll surrounds the delicious ganache, which in turn forms the texture of the cake.

Last but not least, The Bakery Chef’s signature rainbow cakes come in different flavours, including original, chocolate, matcha, calamansi and salted caramel. The Bakery Chef serves one of the best rainbow cake, in my opinion. The pleasant squarish sponge cakes of 6 different colours of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. The sponge cake is so soft and moist. Lightly sprinkled with passionfruit syrup, it has a balance of sweetness and tanginess. I also love their salted caramel version. Each slice costs $5.80. They also have Christmas specials including stollen ($30), rainbow log cake ($78) and fruit cake ($50).
