I have heard so much about Standing Sushi Bar but fate never bring us together. It was until a few weeks ago, when I need to cover an event in Standing Sushi Bar @ Marina Bay Link Mall, I decided to drop by early and have my dinner there.
Tucked away in a quiet place in the heart of the city, this cosy restaurant makes a great quiet place to have a meeting over lunch and be filled up with delicious, fresh Japanese food. Having a quiet dinner here by myself was a great choice as the food was great but not too expensive like other Japanese restaurants.

As a girl who lived next door throughout childhood, I refused to give raw fish the time of day till my 20s. I remembered the first piece of sashimi I put into my mouth was salmon, the cooling feeling of gulping down the first piece of salmon sashimi was refreshing. Then I began my journey with sashimi.
I ordered the Matsu Set ($30) which comes with a plate of sashimi, a plate of sushi and a bowl of miso soup. The place serves very lovely sashimi. I had salmon, prawns, tuna and yellowtail.

For many of you, you would actually dip your sushi into soy sauce and wasabi. But I prefer to eat it with only soy sauce because wasabi is too strong for me.
Standing Sushi Bar prides itself on handmade sushi, my dinner set comes with salmon, swordfish, tuna, yellow tail and fish roe sushi.
And in case you’re wondering… Standing Sushi Bar doesn’t need you to stand to eat your sushi. Contrary to the restaurant name, there are plenty of seats for all!
