Award-winning Bedrock Bar & Grill ups the ante for lunchtime indulgence. I have been wanting to dine at the restaurant for the longest time and have finally done so last week. From Mondays to Sundays, Bedrock is offering a 3-course set lunch where you can pick from a selection of 6 mains, 3 appetisers and 3 desserts. All steak sets are priced at $58++, while seafood and poultry sets are available at $38++.

Built on a philosophy of preparing classic dishes with the freshest ingredients, all dishes are cooked with earthy techniques such as wood grilling and smoking. The three-course set lunch comes with a selection of 3 starters – Classic Lobster Bisque with brandy and chive cream, House Cured Salmon with caperberries and smoked sourcream, and Char-Grilled Baby Gem with heirloom tomatoes, artichoke and parmesan. The lobster bisque is really the embodiment of a perfect, old fashioned bisque – thick, full-bodied with a little swirl of cream on top. The result is a broth that has oomph and flavour. It is obviously a crowd favourite given that I have seen so many tables ordered it when we were there.

The restaurant brings more steak selections to the lunch table, offering beef-loving executives and shoppers a chance to try unique cuts without breaking the bank.

Being ladies, we wanted something lean yet flavourful, so we were recommended Petit Tender with french beans, bacon and whisky mustard. This part of the meat is also known as beef shoulder tender, originating from the chuck shoulder clod where rich beef flavour profile resides. Other options include Wagyu Minute Steak, Steak & Fries and Chopping Steak Burger.

If you are not a fan for beef, try the Baked Barramundi Fillet, a beautifully fresh catch served with sea asparagus, tomato and olive tapenade. The soft flesh is is roasted very nicely, with a crisp coat on top with vegetables to bring colours and texture to the dish.

The chefs have also created Wood-Fire Chicken, served with roasted swede and beetroot. Drizzled in tomato chilli oil for that extra kick, the chicken is pretty juicy.

We also ordered Bedrock Mac n’ Cheese ($20) in the ala carte menu. Using a thinner macaroni and four different cheeses, the mac and cheese is gooey and rice. I like the crispy light crust on the surface. Truffle oil is also added to give it a fragrant finish.

Equally irrestible is the selection of 3 sweets – Warm Chocolate Pdding with vintage strawberry ice cream, Brandied Cherry & Almond Tart with creme fraiche, and Passion Fruit & Lemon Curd Profiteroles with chocolate sauce. It is decent but not outstanding.

Bedrock Bar & Grill turns 6 this December! As such, they are offering a luxurious $58++ set lunch to those whose birthdays fall on October, November and December. So try it if you haven’t!
