Enjoy modern, delicious and conscious dining this Chinese New Year at Grand Hyatt Singapore. Select from a range of Chinese classics made with sustainably sourced seafood at mezza9 and the halal-certified StraitsKitchen; each restaurant offering an international menu and a truly Singaporean touch respectively, for guests to enjoy Chinese New Year with a cosmopolitan twist.

With an impeccable mix of fresh ingredients and flavourful broth, Clay Pot Braised Sea Cucumber, Pig Tendons, Fish Maw, Tiger Prawns & Conpoy ($48 small; $98 large) is an unanimous favourite among foodies. All the ingredients were cooked to perfection, especially the sea cucumber, which had a gelatinous bite to it. The seafood was fresh and well-seasoned and they soaked up the richly flavoured broth very nicely.

Need more gift ideas? There are aplenty here at the Grand Hyatt’s takeaway racks! Everything is packaged so elegantly, they make great gifts for your loved ones. Pick from a selection of kueh bangkit ($28), Love Letters ($32), and our favourite Mahjong Praline Set ($168) – as the saying goes, this is so “full of win”. HOLIDAY INN SINGAPORE ATRIUM

Usher in the Lunar New Year with a selection of festive goodies and delicacies from Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium which will make great gifts for loved ones and business associates. Xin Cuisine’s Home Style Roast Duck with Tea Leaves (故乡茶皇鸭, whole duck $68) is definitely a must-try in the takeaway menu. The secret of the duck lies in the usage of three different tea leaves, namely Pu’er, Jasmine and Chrysanthemum, which gives rise to the noticeable yet very light Chinese tea scent in the juicy and smoky meat. I really enjoy the crispy skin with tender meat. It is specially created for those who wish to enjoy reunion dinner at the comfort of their home,

Xin Cuisine’s signature Pan-fried Yam and Pumpkin Cake (新故乡秘制金瓜芋头糕, $48 per box) is my favourite amongst all. While many yam cakes are mashed into paste, Xin’s version still allows you to taste the solid yam and pumpkin slices. The combination of both sweetens up your palette and goes very well with their homemade XO sauce. To order, please call 6731 7173 or visit singaporeatrium.holidayinn.com/festive
