Happy Birthday Miss Tam Chiak! (plus GIVEAWAY!)
No no no, it’s not my birthday! It is MY blog’s birthday!
July is a happy occasion as we celebrate Miss Tam Chiak (the blog) birthday. And guess what, WE ARE 5 YEARS OLD! Time flies so quickly, can’t believe I have been blogging for 5 years. 5 years, that is like 1800 days! My “baby” is already 5-year-old! *weeps*
All the grandmother stories we shall leave it to next time. But it has been an amazing journey with everyone of you. This blog makes me learn a lot, and the friendship found is very precious. Things have been going real busy, especially for the past one year, when I decided to change my blog from Chinese to English (Read here). Things have been moving faster than before and of course, there were more opportunities than before.
I still hope to keep this food blog of mine as personal and real as possible, sharing part of my dining and travel adventures. I thank all you readers, hotels, restaurants, PR, hawkers etc who trusted in me and joined me in my journey.

Thanks to Liang Court, I had the chance to do some shopping last weekend. Sharing is caring, so I dropped by Kinokuniya and decided to buy a cookbook for all you readers. I was comtemplating between MACARONS (by Pierre Herme) and Home Cooking with Sam & Forest (by Sam & Forest Leong), so I tweeted both to see which one is more well received.
Looks like Sam & Forest are still the favourite chefs among many of us as majority of you preferred Home Cooking with Sam & Forest (by Sam & Forest Leong). So here I am, doing a giveaway on this new book to one lucky you! If you asked me, I would also prefer this book too because the recipes inside are so easy to do and you can practically cook it in your house any day!
All 50 dishes in this collection were created using Sam & Forest’s tried-and-tested cooking methods and require only a few siple steps to do. Find everyday favourites from rice and noodle dishes such as Rice with Braised Pork and Malaysian-style Crispy Egg Noodles with Tiger Prawns to soups and desserts such as Simmered Duck Consomme with Salted Vegetables and Steamed Green Tea Cupcakes.
