Bel Mondo Italian Kitchen

Bel Mondo Italian Kitchen @ Millenia Walk
Bel Mondo Italian Kitchen's Linguine with crabmeat
Bel Mondo Italian Kitchen's Salami Pizza

Get a taste of the Mediterranean from Bel Mondo, a restaurant that serves South Italian inspired cuisine. If you haven’t tried their set lunch, drop by soon! At $14.45++, you will get a starter (soup or salad), a main (choose from a list of pizzas and pastas), a dessert and a coffee/tea.

We like the Linguine with crabmeat in white wine sauce. The shredded crab meat and cherry tomatoes deepen the flavours of the white wine sauce punctuated with rocket salad. Other pasta options include Spaghetti with Mixed Ham, Linguine with Beef Cubes in Pomodoro sauce, Penne with Sundried Tomatoes in Cream Sauce and Spaghetti with Mixed Peppers in Aglio Olio.

You will be happy to know that the lunch set menu changes constantly, so you will never get tired of eating the same dishes here. If you are craving for pasta, you are in for a treat because Bel Mondo serves 12-inch pizzas for set lunch, including pizza with Mushroom, Pizza with Shrimp & Pineapple, Pizza with Egg & Basil, Pizza with Anchovies & Olives, and Salami Pizza. We went for the Salami Pizza slathered with their homemade tomato sauce and thinly sliced salami. Made freshly in the oven, each slice is thin and crispy that we can easily finish it! Hype up your lunch with beer. Top up $5++ for a glass of Heineken draft or a bottle of Tiger/Asahi/Peroni.

Fumée

Fumée @ Millenia Walk
Fumee Burger
Fumée's AUS Wagyu Rump Steak

Fumée is a multi-faceted wine & dine establishment brought to you by the founders of Habanos The Fine Cigar People. Not only do they serve a delicious menu, Fumée also retails a good collection of fresh seafood on ice, a good variety of wines & bubblies and a handsome library of whiskeys.

The kitchen is helmed by the young and talented Chef Wilson Ang who is adventurous in the use of ingredients but still keeping to his classical roots. We sink our teeth into the Fumee Burger ($18) with wagyu patty, emmental cheese, bacon and truffle relish. The round and juicy patty were undeniably tasty, with emmental cheese melted on top and the truffle relish helps to lift the flavours further, offering a delightful mouthful every bite.

Choose from 2-course set lunch ($19) or 3-course set lunch ($24) where you can choose from starter, entrée and dessert. The salmon confit served on a bed of risotto is so unbelievably soft and tender, it literally melts in the mouth. With an additional $7, you get AUS Wagyu Rump Steak that is flavourful and firm-textured. We went for medium rare which was a little chewy but brings out the succulent flavours of the meat.

Fika Swedish Café & Bistro (Halal) @ Millenia Walk
Fika Swedish Café & Bistro (Halal)'s Swedish Meatballs
Fika Swedish Café & Bistro (Halal)'s Pytt i Panna

Fika is a social institution in Sweden; it means having a coffee with one’s colleagues, friends, date, or family. Take a break from work at Fika Swedish Café & Bistro where they serve the best halal certified meatballs in Singapore! I love the meatballs and the bright interior so much that I actually frequent this place. And they have an option for gluten free pasta too!

Owner Tasneem Noor opened a Nordic cafe in 2009 when she was learning to cook Nordic food to feed her homesick husband, who is a Swedish artist. Her food is authentic homemade Swedish and you won’t find fusion here. One must try here is the juicy Swedish Meatballs ($19.90) served with potatoes, cream sauce and lingonberry jam. The meatballs have a slightly charred crust that trapped moisture within. The creamy brown mushroom sauce that was not overly rich with the sweet lingonberry compote balancing the meaty flavours.

Pytt i Panna ($19.90), which translates to small pieces in a pan, is a comfort dish on Swedish dinner tables. Traditionally, they are made with leftovers from the night before, chopped up and fried together. But of course, at Fika, fresh and quality ingredients are used, so not to worry! Diced beef, potatoes and onions are sautéed together and topped with a sunny side-up egg and pickled red beets on the side. They also serve classic Swedish coffee, and Swedish imported sodas to pair with your meal. It makes a great lunch option! From Monday to Friday from opening to 2pm, Fika offers set lunch ($19.90) which includes soup, main course and dessert.

Outback Steakhouse
Unit: #01-114
Phone: 6837 3242

Outback Steakhouse @ Millenia Walk
Outback Steakhouse's Garlic Glazed Pork Loin
Outback Steakhouse's Crab Topped Sirloin

If you enjoy prime ribs, BBQ salads, steaks and burgers, onion rings and sinful chocolate desserts, Outback Steakhouse will bring you what you crave for! One of over twelve thousand branches of this global restaurant chain based in Tampa, Florida, it became an instant hit with the locals when it opened in Singapore.

From Mondays to Fridays 11.30am to 5pm, Outback Steakhouse has recently offered Best Value Lunch from $9.90. Choose from Garlic Glazed Pork Loin, BBQ Chicken Half or Fish And Chips. The seasoned and seared pork loin is topped with spicy lemon garlic, such a perfect play of flavours all over. It is served with grilled vegetables, mashed potatoes and whole grain mustard. Top up $5.90 for shareable appetizers such as Half Crispy Fried Mushrooms, Half Kookaburra Wings and Half Typhoon Bloom.

A new and interesting dish at Outback Steakhouse is the Crab Topped Sirloin ($37.90). With such strong flavours from steak, I didn’t imagine the seared sirloin to pair so well with lump crabmeat. When drenched with the rich and buttery hollandaise sauce, oh mine… I love the dimension it creates! Besides the meat and steaks that make up the major portion of the menu, Outback Steakhouse also includes a number of sides, salads and soups to balance out the indulgent meats and sweets you’ll probably be ordering. They have a fantastic range of cocktails as well.

Wine Universe

Wine Universe @ Millenia Walk
Wine Universe's Poulette Bouchot Mussels
Wine Universe's Grilled Pork Steak

One and only outlet in Millenia Walk, Wine Universe Restaurant & Bar is a joint venture by fourth-generation Swiss vintner, Dominique Giroud and Swiss owner, Claude Dizerens. Combining a restaurant, bar and wine cellar into one, enjoy with a menu featuring contemporary Swiss cuisine with wine at a laidback environment.

Mussels are in season hence Wine Universe has recently rolled out the Poulette Bouchot Mussels ($27). What arrived on the table was this HUGE bowl of mussels with creamy sauce and French fries. The shells are smaller than the ones from New Zealand but they are very tasty and have a lot of meat. With just a little addition of herbs and white wine into the cooking, the tender, orange flesh is creamy and brings out a hint of sweetness.

The thick slab of Grilled Pork Steak ($25) satisfies every craving with thick and juicy meat served with confit garlic, melting apples and potatoes “a la Provencale”. The melting apples help to cut the oiliness and add sweetness to this meaty lunch. Every Monday, Wine Universe diners will also enjoy 25% discount on their wine list from 12pm to 12am. Besides the usual suspects from France and Italy, their incredibly extensive wine selection also introduces several Swiss options. No more Monday blues!

Marco Marco
Unit: #01-88/89

Marco Marco @ Millenia Walk
Marco Marco's The Bangkok
Marco Marco's pizza

The people behind Marco Macro obviously know something about having fun with their food. They have created a range of modern Italian panini, pastas and pizzas inspired by the taste profile of various cities and named them after these cities.

For instance, The Bangkok ($14) that we had features spaghetti cooked with fresh prawns, tomatoes and thai herbs in tom yam sauce. The noodles are nicely coated with spicy and tangy tom yum sauce and very fragrant. Other interesting options include The Kyoto ($15) – cold soba with tuna and avocado; The Singapore ($14) – prawns and beancurd in laksa cream; and The Jaipur ($12) – paneer or tandoori chicken in spicy massala sauce.

Pizza is always one of my favourite comfort food. The 11-inch pizzas here use fresh ingredients and daily homemade sauces and they even do the dough fresh on site. We tried The Osaka ($15) with generous servings of teriyaki chicken, mushroom, chili on crispy pizza dough. It’s slightly sweet but a great twist on the usual Italian pizza. Marco Marco also has other pizza flavours like The Melbourne ($16) – pepperoni, ham, bacon, capsicum; The San Francisco ($13) – capsicum, onions, tomatos, olives, rocket; and The Monaco ($16) – spicy prawns, tomatoes, olives, chilli. They also serve a range of classic Italian dishes like The Roma ($12) – creamless Spaghetti Carbonara with bacon, parmesan and egg yolk; and The Palermo ($15) made with ham, mushroom and truffle oil.
