50g Dried chrysanthemum flowers (菊花)
8 nos Red Dates
1/4 cup Wolfberries
50g Rock Sugar adjust to taste
1.5 litres Water

The weather has been crazy recently. One moment, it gets really humid. Then it starts pouring in the afternoon… AIYO! Now that I have my own home, I started to cook more regularly. While cooking for our family one weekend, we also boiled Chrysanthemum drink for everyone. It only requires a few ingredients and 10 minutes to make. Not only does it help to quench your thirst, it also has cooling properties so it’s really good for tropical weather like Singapore. If you don’t have wolfberries and red dates, you can skip it but they are healthy additions. Enjoy!



Soak wolfberries and chrysanthemum for 15 minutes.


In a pot, bring water to a boil. Once the water starts to boil, add chrysanthemum, red dates and wolfberries.


Simmer for 15 minutes. Add rock sugar to taste and turn off the stove when the sugar has dissolved.


Take out the chrysanthemum flowers andsieve the liquid through a strainer. Drink chilled or at room temperature.
