Riders Cafe

It was a lovely Sunday afternoon. Buddy and I decided to have brunch at Riders Cafe. We haven’t done this for the longest time. We only confirmed our brunch venue the night before and when I called the cafe on Sunday morning, I was told they don’t take reservation for the same day. It just didn’t make sense to me but never mind.

So I reached and was told to wait for 45mins. We expected the long wait, so when the buddy arrived, we went to take some photos around the place. Frankly, Bukit Timah Saddle Club is such a lovely place. I have never seen such a beautiful place in Singapore. It was like a paradise – blue sky, lovely tree, green grass… so beautiful.

I received a call from the waiter after 45 minutes. The weather was really humid that day and we were all sweating like mad. Rider’s cafe has a nice rustic feeling with beautiful ceiling fans and the windows made the cafe very bright. It was full house on a Sunday afternoon, indeed one of the most popular brunch spot in Singapore.

This is the hungry us while waiting for our meal. Buddy lost her handphone while she was in Johor Bahru on Friday and a kind Singaporean lady actually found her phone at the custom and returned it to her when she got back to Singapore. How lucky!

Riders Cafe's Blackstone Benedict with Bacon & Tomatoes, Poached Eggs & Hollandaise

What is brunch without egg benedict? We each had a plate of egg benedict with different ingredients. Buddy had Soft Shell Crab Benedict with Poached Eggs, Spinach & Tomatoes ($16) while I had Blackstone Benedict with Bacon & Tomatoes, Poached Eggs & Hollandaise ($15). The egg benedict was not bad, the egg was done perfect but I find the hollandaise sauce too bland.

They had Freshly baked Tea Scones with Clotted Cream & Raspberry Jam (limited portions a day, $9) too. It wasn’t flaky like the ones we usually have. The texture was more cake-like, very light and fluffy. I prefer it to be more buttery.

Riders Cafe's brunch

This is our brunch. Isn’t it lovely to eat with friends and enjoy the scenery? I heard good reviews about the french toast, if I am coming back here again, I must try it.

The beautiful place near Riders Cafe

And because this place is so beautiful, how can I not take a shot and show you guys? When I saw this tree, I exclaimed:”原来新加坡也可以那么美丽!” Everywhere was so serene and there were horses walking around the grassland too.

See the little girl and her horse! We even saw those pretty white horses and even hybrid grey ones.

The place is so beautiful so I must take some photos! I am wearing the Razzle Dazzle Playsuit from Jipaban! This beautifully tailored high-waist floral romper is made of a soft but textured cotton linen blend, very comfortable!
