Finally a stall from the west! We were here for the power nasi lemak, I was walking around and saw a Channel U Yummy King poster on Xin Sheng Gor Hiong Prawn Cracker, so I decided to give it a try. It’s so popular that they even have outlets in Vivo and Orchard.
It was a Friday night and service was pretty efficient. Food was served to our table within 15 mins or so. The ngoh hiang (meat roll) is of course one of the signatures here. But I found it to be towards the thin side. I like the pink sausage and prawn fritters. Especially the crispy prawn fritters, it was almost greaseless and managed to retain a clean taste.
The bee hoon was tasty and sufficiently moist, which is a decent accompaniment to the fried items. For additional kick, I like to dip all the fried stuff into the bowl of chilli sauce which is on the sweet side.
