The famous Longhouse food centre was sold in January for $45.2 million to listed developer TEE Land and some hawkers have set up shop at Balestier Market in Balestier Road. One of them is Ah Hui Big Prawn Noodle. Besides bringing their prawn noodles to Balestier, they have also started Ah Hui Fishball Noodles.

The minced fishmeat has been beaten to a bouncy texture. For a $4 fishball noodles, you get 6 handmade fishballs with one meatball. I prefer the minced meat combo ($4.50) with fishballs, meatball and fish roll. Honestly, I love their meatball more which is a mix of fish, chillies and spring onion. The fish roll has a good bite too.

Nothing much to shout about for the noodles and the pork lard wasn’t crispy enough. However, the chilli sauce is pretty shiok with generous amount of vinegar added. Though I still prefer Song Kee for their more tasty noodles and fishballs, Ah Hui offers a satisfying bowl of fishball noodles in Balestier.
