Miss Tam Chiak’s Anniversary High Tea at Hello Kitty Orchid Garden

Time flies, Miss Tam Chiak is already 9 years old! I started as a personal food diary where I share all my food adventures to a five-man team, hoping to build a positive food community. The road is never easy. Along the way, there are always obstacles that I need to overcome but I am really grateful for all the support that F&B owners and readers have given me. To thank my readers, I held a cosy anniversary high tea at Hello Kitty Orchid Garden, all thanks to Changi Airport.

Located at Changi Airport Terminal 3, Hello Kitty Orchid Garden is the world’s first 24-hour Hello Kitty café offering locals and tourists round-the-clock respite with a bevy of delectable food and beverages served in a whimsical floral paradise setting. About 20 readers and I got to enjoy small kitty bites like Hola Nachos, Beef Rendang Vol-au-vent, Hide & Seek, Leaning Tower of Kitty and Ops Kitty Did It Again.

The dishes are served on beautiful wooden boards, ceramic and glass ware – specially selected to complement the garden theme, each customised with the café logo. We started with nachos made with crispy tortilla chips, cheese sauce, parmesan, jalapeños, olives, onions and cherry tomato salsa. I tried wagyu beef rendang in the cafe before and this time round, we had beef rendang tart. It’s still flavourful as usual. Pps Kitty Did It Again features crisoy fries topped with some Himalayan pink salt and parmesan cheese. Truffle ketchup serves as a good complement.

There is an irresistible array of Kitty-fied desserts; including soft serve, gelato sundaes, pastries and tea cakes. I like their froyo the best – frozen yogurt with a choice of sauce, fruit, crunch, Hello Kitty cookie and Hello Kitty chocolate served in a cup. We ended our high tea with a range of drinks to choose from. I was intrigued by Hello Kitty Café’s custom-blended loose tea leaves that come in interesting flavours, such as the Apple Pie Tea and Strawberry Marshmallow Tea.

Or, go for late night shopping as Changi Airport has extended their shopping hours till 11 pm daily all year round!
