Among all the offers, we picked b@Rochester to try because of we were mesmerized by its ambience. Set in a charming and nostalgic bungalow surrounded by lush greenery in Rochester Park, B@Rochester Restaurant Bar is a contemporary restaurant and bar featuring modern Japanese cuisine by Executive Chef Joseph and innovative signature cocktails. The tasteful zen-like décor provides a casual and relaxing ambience.

Ingredients take centre stage at b@Rochester. Whether seafood or meat, the ingredients are all of utmost freshness, and paired with flavours and techniques that best allow them to shine. We began our dinner with Signature Pitan Tofu ($12). It is a subtle creamy combination with homemade silken beancurd with kani, tobiko and spring onion.

We tucked into a plate of Sashimi Moriawase ($24/6pcs) with salmon, maguro and mekajiki (swordfish) sushi.

Saikyo miso codfish ($28) is served with zucchini, cauliflower puree, crispy leek, French beans and balsamico. The flavours of the miso marinade works wonderfully well with the rich and creamy texture of the cod fish. The oven-baked Alaskan black cod almost melt in your mouth and was smooth and juicy. But my only small complaint was the fish was slightly too salty for us.

I love its Japanese Curry Beef Cheek($28) which definitely managed to capture the quintessential flavour of Japanese interpretation of this popular Indian dish. The beef cheek was slow cooked to give it the tenderness and simmered in spicy stew, served with cocktail potato, baby carrot and onion. The spice blend was balanced, with a beefy body and was delicious enough for me to polish them off the plate.

We enjoyed these two main courses for the price of one, all thanks to The Entertainer App. All you have to do is to key in your pin to redeem, and get the staff from the restaurant to key in their pin, then you can redeem. It is very simple! The second main course (the one of the same or lower value) will be completely free.

And you are done! Each main course costs $29 but using the ‘buy one, get one free’ deal with the app, we only paid for one main course and enjoyed the other for free! They even helped me to calculate the amount I saved!
