Renowned for serving up authentic local favourites, Kopi Tiam’s Sous Chef Ng Kwong Hee is serving a delectable new menu of claypot specialties from now till 24 November 2013 to satisfy your nostalgic cravings.

Prepared with an assortment of flavourful ingredients, some of the much anticipated combinations include Claypot with Braised Pork Belly, Ginger and Salted Fish ($18). This is the dish I enjoyed most. Chef was sharing that he braised the pork belly for 1.5 hours to achieve a tender bite. Though it looks lighter in colour, but the aroma from the pork belly is truly irresistible!

We were also served with piping hot Claypot with Braised Eggplant, chicken and salted fish ($17). The eggplant came tender in a very tasty sauce. When we ask chef, what is the secret of cook such aromatic claypot dishes, he very proudly shared that he used premium salted fish which enriched the flavours. It is no wonder that saltiness in the salted fish intensified the flavours of the brinjals.

Claypot with Sliced Beef, Ginger, Spring Onion and Oyster Wine Sauce ($19) is decent with caramel notes with wok hei and tender beef slices.

Claypot with Ocean Prawns and Oyster Chilli Sauce ($22) has less supporters as compared to the rest. Yes the prawns are huge and fresh, but I thought the oyster chilli sauce did not stand out.

Trishaw Noodles with Seafood ($19) has a whole claypot full of seafood. The yee mee is braised in sauce until it is soft and the noodles absorbed the flavours from the sauce. If you prefer rice, they also offer Claypot Rice with Chicken, Sausage, Salted Fish, Salted Egg and Choy Sum ($18)..

Prices are decent and the dishes are so delicious that we ordered another round to eat. As I am typing this blog post in the midnight, my tummy is really growling and craving for its pork belly and trishaw noodles. Note that the promotion ends on 24 November 2013.
