I hate going to cafes on weekends because they are usually overcrowded. But but but, at Everton Park, there is this quaint little cafe called Cozy Corner Coffee. Frankly speaking, it didn’t look impressive when we first entered this quiet space. It was a Saturday and all other cafes were busy except this one. BUT when the owner started brewing coffee and did the latte art, I knew I was wrong.

Holding a metal tip on her right hand, the 43-year-old owner from Xi An skillfully draws on the coffee surface with light strokes. She has a passion in coffee brewing and went to take up barista classes. The owner is very talented and knowledgeable about coffee. I am truly amazed!

To perfect the cute latte art, she practiced hundreds over cups of coffee at home to get it right. I ordered a cup of Cappuccino ($4.50/$5.50) and quietly watched her display her creativity on my cup of coffee. Is that a rabbit? Oh a cat!

Unfortunately, the food menu is not as impressive and extensive. We had the Pesto Chicken Paninis ($7.80) which was decent but not fantastic.

Beef Spaghetti Bolognese ($7.80) prepared using microwave.

The Waffles with Banana ($4.80) was way much better. Crispy, buttery and fluffy. You can add an additional scoop of ice cream which costs an additional $1.20

Love the graffiti wall drawn by a Lasalle student. This is a good alternative if you want a quiet place for coffee. I am not very particular about coffees. Their coffee is definitely better than other more commercial coffee chains. But I think they need to improve on their food dishes.
