Dutch Baby Cafe is opened by Japan Food Holding, the same company which brought about the sister brand, Fruit Paradise.

Dutch Baby Cafe: Entrance

Located at Basement 1 in Paragon, Dutch Baby Cafe’s signature is none other than their Dutch baby pancake. It is also known as German pancake, a sweet popover baked and served on hot cast iron pans. This piping hot pancakes come in different flavors such as Mixed Berries ($13.80), Banana Chocolate ($11.80), Caesar Bacon ($13.80) and Maple Grapefruit ($13.80).

Dutch Baby Cafe: Crab Cream Croquette Curry Rice

One of the signatures here is the Crab Cream Croquette Curry Rice ($17.80). The creaminess of the crab croquette was no joke. Taking a bite through the thin crispy crust, the warm and smooth crab cream slowly flowed into my mouth. I liked how the crab croquette blends with the Japanese curry as it adds thickness to the non-spicy curry.

Dutch Baby Cafe: Pork Cutlet Curry Udon

Another signature is the Pork Cutlet Curry Udon ($17.80). The pork cutlet served was quite lean and not too oily, makes me feel slightly healthier. Even so, the cutlet still contains some moisture within and was not dry. It was quite all right; nothing fantastic about it.

Dutch Baby Cafe: Mixed Berries Dutch Baby Pancake

The Mixed Berries Dutch baby pancake ($13.80) was topped with strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, along with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. We definitely loved the crispy edges, but felt that the bottom layer was not puffy enough.

The tartness of the berries lightens the eggy taste of the pancake. Pancake and ice cream would never go wrong, but it would have been better if more ice cream were given. The whipped cream, on the other hand, brings a different light, creamy, buttery taste to the pancake, but would love it to be more chilled than the lukewarm version that was served.

Dutch Baby Cafe: Gravitea

Other than food, Dutch Baby Cafe also has a unique way of serving their tea. Served in a Gravitea pot, the tea only flows out when you align it with the cup. We had our try with the Yuzu Pear Blossom ($5.80), which sadly tasted like bitter green tea with a whiff of yuzu. Nonetheless, it was quite a sight to see how this mechanism works.
