Here are 10 items that you should, or should I say must, get from Farm N Pantry.
1. Australian Broccoli
According to theaustralian.com.au, 70 percent of Australia’s $8.2 million export broccoli crop was flown in and sold fresh in Singapore last year. It seems that broccoli has sparked renewed interest in our people. With modern techniques, the broccoli exported are of extremely good quality. They should be firm and green, with even bead-size heads. When cooked, their eating quality is superb with a firm and crunchy texture.
2. Australian Kensington Pride Mango
Kensington Pride is the most popular mango variety grown in Australia. During our visit, we had a chance to try the mangoes which came from the first harvest of the season. Beneath the thin, vibrant yellow skin, lays rich, sweet and juicy flesh. They are in season from September to February in Australia.
3. Packham pears
Aussie born and bred, Packham pears have a sweet and juicy white flesh with a smooth texture. They have a rich flavour, too. They are great on their own, and can be even better when baked in tarts, or poached and infused in vanilla to make sweet compote. When the pears are ripe, their skin turns from green to light yellow. It is a good source of dietary fibre and vitamin C.
Australians like to put avocado on a lot of things. And that’s because their avocados are exceptionally good, creamy and with a nice texture to it. What’s more, it is incredibly healthy. You can make guacamole with ripe avocados, salt, onions, cilantro and lime. The acidity actually complements the richness of the avocado and cuts through the creaminess. Farm N Pantry makes its own guacamole for sale too on a daily basis! It’s fresh and pretty delicious! Use it as a dip for chips, or just savour it on its own.
5. Red Onions
90 cents for one onion, are u kidding me? In Australia, there are about 300 commercial onion growers, making onions Australia’s fourth largest vegetable crop. They are very versatile as you can eat it raw, sautéed, baked, barbecued or steamed. Red onions have a purplish red skin and a milder and sweeter flavour. They are crunchy and firm.
Yoghurts are one of the healthiest products you can have.
Evia is currently exclusive to Farm N Pantry. Evia is an Australian family run business that specialises in Greek style yoghurts. Evia’s family recipe has been passed down from generation to generation of yoghurt artisans. Greek style yoghurts are higher in protein and are thick and creamy, making it taste better than many others.
Farm N Pantry also carry Evia’s famous Evia PODs which are a great and convenient way of enjoying your daily dose of yoghurt. They are super convenient and are great tasting with a nice blend of crunchy and creamy in every bite.
They also carry Coyo which is a yoghurt alternative made from the squeezed flesh of organically grown coconuts. To this, they add five carefully sourced plant fed vegan cultures to produce a velvety smooth dairy free alternative.
Made with nature’s superfood the coconut, COYO yoghurts are rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It’s also full of probiotics that restore the guts healthy bacteria and aids our digestion, protect against infections, and reduces the risk of colon cancer.
Coconut yoghurt can also support weight loss, specifically decreasing body mass, neck circumference and waste circumference.
7. J.C. Almonds
J.C.’s Quality Foods is a family-owned business that started in 1994. With a passion for quality products like freshly roasted cashews, natural almonds and health mixes, J.C.’s have a strong and loyal customer base. The packaging is top notch, sealing in the freshness of the nuts and dried fruit until you open and eat them. Those packets of nuts literally fly off the shelves! Almost every customer picks up a pack, before they head to check-out.
8. Kale & Asparagus
Kale is a frilly green vegetable that is rustling into restaurants everywhere. It’s full of vitamins and antioxidants, and definitely deserves a spot on the dining table. You will be surprised at how many shoppers actually grab their greens from here before heading home! The kale is also available as a cold pressed juice or as part of their salad offerings.
9. Fresh Beef
Yes, we are talking about free range and grass-fed beef from the central tablelands and northern plains of New South Wales. Mayfield branded rump, beef T-bone, rib fillet and cuts of striploin await. Marinated meats are also available including pork and beef meatballs and burger patties. Save yourself the time and the hassle – grab a box of marinated meat, head home, grill the slab of goodness, enjoy. Simple, and fuss free.
