Apart from providing respite from a busy work day, Ginger aims to fill the tummies of hungry patrons with authentic local dishes. The restaurant features five live food stations that are halal-certified, and prides itself on serving one of the best Halal hotel buffets in Singapore!

Singaporeans love buffets, and we have been looking forward to the return of a full service buffet. Hurray, because our dream has finally come true! It’s been way too long, hasn’t it?

In addition to the usual suspects such as seafood on ice, sushi, and sashimi, Ginger promises tantalising Singapore flavours specially created to provide a sense of comfort and familiarity in both their Buffet Lunch, and Parent’s Day Peranakan Themed Dinner Buffet (exclusively for the month of May & June).

Diners can expect local favourites made with quality ingredients and meticulous preparation methods such as Hokkien mee, laksa, chicken rice, oyster omelette, mee siam, charcoal-grilled chicken wings, and smoky satay. A selection of dim sum, Western fare, Hong Kong roasts and dessert is set to dazzle your taste buds too.

Highlights from the Parent’s Day Peranakan Themed Buffet Dinner (Dinner SGD69, Tue-Sun 6-10.30pm) include Braised Wagyu Beef Rendang, Buah Keluak Fried Rice, Nyonya Curry Chicken, and Crispy Halibut with Ginger Flower Belacan Chilli. Fork tender and well-infused with spices, the wagyu beef cheek rendang is not to be missed! It’s best eaten with a bowl of rice, but equally good on its own. Chef’s special Buah Keluak Fried Rice is carefully made with a myriad of locally sourced ingredients and house-made buah keluak paste. Be prepared for a fiery punch and intense flavours!

Planning to drop by for Ginger’s buffet lunch (SGD49) which runs from Tuesday to Sunday, from 12-3pm? You’re in for a treat! Chef recommended the Chicken Siew Mai, Chicken Karaage, Pulled Chicken Slider, and Stir-fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle which is whipped up over a big fire to impart kisses of wok hei to the seafood, white beehoon, and yellow noodle mix.

One of the many dishes that the chef takes exceptional pride in is definitely the laksa. Made with freshly-sourced herbs, fresh house-made rempah, desiccated coconut which has been toasted and ground, coconut milk, and gula melaka, the laksa broth is painstakingly simmered for 4 hours. Chef’s dedication to his star dish certainly pays off because the laksa is an addictively rich and creamy bowl packed with robust flavours that will send you reaching for seconds instantly.

We also particularly enjoyed the chicken rice which saw succulent and moist poached chicken paired with a portion of firm grains that were not too oily. Together with the accompanying house-made chilli and ginger paste, the well-executed chicken was quite the stunner in our books.
