Nestled in the corner of a coffee shop of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 is Good Old Taste Prawn Noodle.

I had their Signature Seafood Prawn Noodle ($5.80) that came filled with a mix of yellow noodles and beehoon, some pork lard, prawns, la las and scallops.

The broth was packed with sweet and savoury notes. That said, it was palatable but not heavy at all. Having soaked up the goodness from the soup, the noodles were also full of flavour.

Besides that, I thoroughly enjoyed the fresh seafood that was bursting with sweetness — the prawns in particular. Here, the Kang Kong added a nice crunch as well.

Next, I went for their regular Prawn Noodle ($4). I had the dry version where the noodles are coated in a mix of chilli sauce. To my surprise, this came topped with Sakura Ebi, rather than your typical fried shallots. That extra bit of crunch and sweetness went hand in hand with the spiciness of the noodles.

A huge bowl of tasty soup  with some seriously sweet prawns and a mountain of pork slices was served on the side. Although the pork was lean, it was still tender and not one bit tough!

I would just skip their signature and just go for a bowl of their no frills, regular Prawn Noodles to satisfy my cravings. They are generous with their portions, so come hungry!
