Hana Japanese Restaurant: Enjoy Two-For-One Omakase Meal using the Entertainer app!
You know hor, there are always so many restaurants that I want to try but some of them are simply too expensive and I would probably only visit during special occasions. So when I finally bought the full Entertainer app this year, I realized there so many attractive deals that I have been missing out.
If you remembered, I did a blog post on Entertainer app last year but I didn’t got the full version, hence I have limited discounts and only managed to use a few. But now, I decided to get the full version and was happily surprised that it offers over 1,000 one-for-one deals at the hottest restaurants, spas, leisure, beauty, fitness centres and international renowned hotels.
That’s right, the Entertainer app is certainly not your average discount vouchers. What’s special is, you can go back to all of the participating restaurants, spas and activities up to 3 times and enjoy buy one get one free offers each time. Or you can use up to four offers at once for a party of eight or more by combining vouchers with a friend (with the exception of hotel offers).
Plus, it requires no advance notice or pre-booking (with the exception of hotel, activities and services). You can just show and redeem your offer on your mobile or handover the voucher from the book at the time you request the bill. These deals are also valid for the entire year (excluding eves of and public holidays) so if you get the Entertainer Singapore now, you’ll get to enjoy it for all of 2015.
So now, I look to the Entertainer Singapore app for inspiration on where to eat, drink and unwind. The app’s search function lets you search its huge database via GPS, cuisine, shopping mall or hotel offer—making it easier for you to make use of more deals near you.
The boyfriend loves Japanese food, so I searched for “Japanese cuisine” and selected Hana Japanese Restaurant because they are offering ONE-FOR-ONE OMAKASE / KAISEKI! Very worth it leh!
A newcomer to Singapore’s vibrant Japanese food scene, Hana serves up a selection of Japanese cuisine, including affordable set lunches, teatime specials, to a comprehensive ala carte dinner menu.
With the Entertainer app, I got to enjoy one complimentary Kaiseki or Omakase when a Kaiseki or Omakase of equal or greater value is purchased. I picked a Omakase meal (i.e. leave it to the chef) worth $120, while the boyfriend prefers a $88 Kaiseki meal.
For my Omakase meal, I had a plate of baby squid with sweet miso, sashimi and angler’s fish liver. Using only fresh seasonal ingredients, my sashimi platter includes tuna belly, white tuna, amberjack and sea bream. The angler’s fish liver was rich and sublime, like foie gras. Its creaminess is perked up with a light ponzu soya dressing.
The highlight of the meal was the Hokkaido Hairy Crab, which was a special that night. The hairy crab was more thorny than hairy, but we definitely enjoy the succulent meat with sweet vinegar. We picked the claws to eat, and sent the body back to the chef as he prepared a comforting bowl of zousui (porridge) for us.
Chef used to be from a sushi restaurant, hence his sushi are worth mentioning. My Omakse set comes with wagyu, flounder and scallop sushi which are all seared on the surface, and a generous looking sea urchin sushi with omelette. The wagyu sushi was luscious and seared perfectly; tender and buttery enough to melt in your mouth.
If you have a budget, go for their Kaiseki meal ($48, $68 or $88) with a salmon appetizer and a smaller plate of sashimi. The truffle chawanmushi with uni was so tasty (I have a soft spot for truffle) that I nearly finished the whole bowl. Sushi fans will love this as our $88 Kaiseki meal comes with 10 sushi such as tuna, white tuna, squid, salmon roe and sushi. We can hear the chef clapping his hands while he makes our sushi.
So how do I use Entertainer app? Upon asking for bill, I will open the app and key in my PIN. Then the waitress will key in the restaurant’s PIN to get the complementary Kaiseki meal.
Within seconds, it’s done! Very easy one, and at the end of it, the app will tell you how much you have saved from the meal.
Very enjoyable dinner with my partner. We saved some money all thanks to Entertainer app while enjoying the finer meals here. I heard the beef shabu shabu is good here. I will come back to give it a try next time!
