嘻記 HEY KEE Launches 50% Off All-You-Can-Eat Hong Kong Wok-Fried Buffet at Just $25.80++
April 29, 2025

We all know that the cost of living is getting higher everywhere, and our beloved F&B businesses are feeling the pinch too. Many of them have been rolling out really attractive deals to entice diners — and your resident lobang queen here must, of course, report first!
Here’s a new deal that you’re hearing straight from me — 嘻記 HEY KEE has just launched an unbelievable 50% off all-you-can-eat Hong Kong wok-fried buffet for only $25.80++ per person during weekday lunch.
This was actually my first visit to 嘻記 HEY KEE, even though they’ve been around for a year. The moment I stepped in, I felt like I had been transported straight into old-school Hong Kong. The bold red and green retro décor, inspired by the golden era of Hong Kong’s Fragrant Harbour, sets such an authentic tone. Located inside the former Singapore Badminton Hall, a gazetted heritage site, the restaurant cleverly preserves the gritty, bustling dai pai dong (大排档) spirit, but with a polished and modern twist.
At this 80-minute weekday lunch buffet, diners can feast on over 30 different Hong Kong-style wok-fried dishes. There’s a huge variety — from appetisers to mains, vegetable stir-fries, comforting staples, and even desserts — all done up with a wonderful breath of wok. While most items are free-flow, some premium dishes are limited to one order per table, and trust me, you’ll want to make full use of that precious order.
For the premium dishes — each limited to just one order per table — you can look forward to some of HEY KEE’s most prized signatures. Highlights include the flavour-packed ‘Typhoon Shelter’ Style Stir-Fried Abalone 避风塘炒鲍鱼, the crispy and aromatic ‘Temple Street’ Crispy Roast Chicken (Half) 庙街风沙鸡 (半), hearty HK Street Style Shark’s Fin Soup 碗仔翅, the playful yet delicious “Hair Dryer” White Pepper Live Prawns 吹风筒白胡椒大头虾, and the dramatic Flambé Angus Beef with Whisky 威士忌火焰牛肉粒.
One of my absolute favourites was the ‘Typhoon Shelter’ Style Stir-Fried Abalone. Inspired by a style of cooking created by fishermen seeking refuge from storms, the whole abalone is stir-fried over high heat with heaps of garlic, scallions, chilli, and fermented black beans.
The Temple Street Crispy Roast Chicken (Half) is marinated and meticulously air-dried for 12 hours to lock in the moisture before being deep-fried till the skin turns beautifully golden and crackling crisp. To finish, it’s generously coated with a fragrant mix of crispy garlic, fried shallots, and aromatic spices — every bite was tender and seriously addictive.
The newly launched “Hair Dryer” White Pepper Live Prawns really cracked me up. When the staff came out wielding a literal hair dryer, I couldn’t stop laughing. But the theatrics aside, this is actually a real classic Cantonese technique. The prawns are seasoned simply with salt and white pepper, then blasted with a hair dryer tableside to create an ultra-crispy exterior while locking in the sweet juices. It’s both a performance and a seriously tasty dish.

Another must-try was the Flambé Angus Beef with Whisky. Thick, juicy cubes of Angus beef are first seared in HEY KEE’s signature sauce, then flambéed dramatically with whisky right before your eyes. The burst of flame caramelises the beef beautifully, leaving behind a rich, smoky aroma that clings to each tender, flavourful cube. It’s a feast for both the eyes and the tastebuds, and honestly, I could easily polish off a whole plate on my own.
Beyond these premium highlights, the regular menu items were no less exciting. The Stir-Fried Pork Collar with Ginger & Scallion was packed with wok hei and flavour, the pork collar juicy and just lightly crisp around the edges. I also really enjoyed the Sliced Fish with Chopped Yellow Chilli — a fresh, vibrant dish with a sauce that hits that perfect sweet-spicy-savory balance. Other popular dishes include Sweet and Sour Pork, and Stir Fried Pork with Green Pepper.
One of the most comforting dishes was the Sizzling Choy Sum with Dried Prawns in Claypot. Arriving bubbling hot, the greens were tender yet crisp, infused with the umami fragrance of dried prawns. If you’re someone who loves Hong Kong-style glutinous rice like I do, don’t miss their Steamed Glutinous Rice topped with Tobiko. The rice is soft and sticky, carrying a subtle sweetness that pairs beautifully with the briny pops of flying fish roe.
Of course, no Hong Kong meal feels complete without the carb classics — HEY KEE delivers with their Signature HK Style “Wok Hei” Hor Fun with Beef, their Egg Fried Rice, and the creamy, comforting Stir Fried Hor Fun with Seafood and Egg Gravy. There’s even Braised Ee-fu Noodles with Shrimp Roe for those who love a more decadent noodle dish.
And just when you think you can’t eat anymore, the desserts arrive. I ended my meal with homemade Brown Sugar Mochi, silky Caramel Beancurd, and — yes — free-flow ice cream cups in assorted flavours to cool down after all that glorious wok-fried action.
For just $25.80++, 嘻記 HEY KEE’s new weekday lunch buffet offers amazing value — not just for the sheer volume of food, but for the quality, atmosphere, and a little bit of entertainment too. I really felt like I had a mini food trip to Hong Kong without needing a passport.
The buffet is only available on weekdays from 12pm to 4pm and for a limited time only. So if you’re looking for a spot to satisfy your Hong Kong food cravings without breaking the bank, head down to 嘻記 HEY KEE at Guillemard Road soon before this lobang ends!
