Cafe 2000 offers an international spread offering Western and Asian cuisine in the Financial District. From delicious crab dishes to charcoal-grilled steaks, diners will have a pick of a light bite or a heartier meal.

What’s a buffet without fresh seafood? The oysters were pretty fresh for a buffet and the prawns managed to retain it’s natural sweetness. The most attractive point is, they have lobsters! I think it is quite rare to see lobsters in buffet lah.

They have quite a good range of salad. Enjoy asparagus salad, salmon salad, cauliflower salad, tomato salad etc. There is also a selection of sushi, maki, rolls and sashimi.

They have a seafood pasta corner where you can choose the seafood and sauce you want, and the chef will cook it accordingly. We had tomato sauce and chilli crab sauce pasta.

The cafe adopted an open kitchen concept where you could see the chefs preparing food. The buffet offers western and asian cuisines at the hot section. The day I went, we had beef bulgogi, roasted duck with plum sauce, daily wok fried vegetables, chicken satay, fried fish drizzled with tomato sauce, sausage paella rice, pizza and many more.

For the month of June, Cafe 2000 has crab promotion for dinner. Every day, chef will prepare about 4-5 crab dishes which includes Crab Meat Timbale on Egg & Caviar, Caribbean Crabmeat Pasta Salad & Pomegranate Seeds, Steamed Mud Crabs served with Black Vinegar & Shredded Ginger, Baked Sea Scallop with Crab Sabayon, Salted Egg Crabs, Butter Crabs.

We tried the salted egg crabs and chilli crab. While I thought the salted egg crabs lack lustre, you get a sturdy fresh chilli crab packed solid with meat and bathed in a bright red, sweetish eggy gravy. It was a pity that there was no man tou, I would love to dip man tou with my chilli crab sauce.

Don’t forget to try Chef’s signature juicy angus beef, grilled over charcoal to perfection. There were sausages and baby ribs as well.

Desserts, glorious desserts! There were shelves of petite tartlets, kuehs, cakes, purees and fondue. We were already very full from the buffet, so I had to make my choices wisely. I had mocca cake, chocolate cake, pulut hitam… and left my remaining stomach space devouring Durian Puree which was thick and bittersweet. And their homemade waffle, which tasted best when served warm!

Overall, I think the spread is pretty good. I love the chilli crabs, seafood on ice and durian puree which I will come back for. International Buffet Dinner is available from Sunday to Thursday. Cafe 2000 serves Seafood and Barbecue Buffet on Fridays and Saturdays where you can enhance your dining pleasure with perfectly grilled steaks and seafood.

Something to excite you, they are having DURIAN PROMOTION in July! They are gonna set up a durian stall offering real durians outside the restaurant. So durian fans, you know what to do!
