Hong Kong Mei-Xin Mooncakes are available in Singapore!
The Maxim’s Group (or Mei-Xin) has been around for more 5 decades. It has evolved from a cake corner in the 1960’s into the largest bakery chain with over 170 stores along MTR stations and Airport Express.
According to Nielson Hong Kong Research Report, Mei-Xin has the best selling mooncakes for 16 consecutive years in Hong Kong. It is not difficult to see why so. Their mooncakes are made only with the finest ingredients such as smooth lotus paste and amazingly moist egg yolks. These mooncakes are crafted with dedication and are loved by many individuals. As they have been in the market for such a long time, you know the standard you are getting and trust their quality. Plus, the older generation is also familiar with this brand and would eat it.
If you are a big fan of Mei Xin, you don’t have to fly to Hong Kong to buy their mooncakes now. Because they are available in Singapore! FROSTS has brought in a huge range of delectable mooncakes to Singapore. With products suitable for any celebratory occasion, or even just as a snack to be enjoyed on its own, Hong Kong Mei-Xin mooncakes are prepped to serve the masses particularly during the yearly Mid-Autumn Festival.
Mei-Xin believes in details made perfection, the lotus paste was made with lotus seeds made out of the Trinal lotus 寸三莲, purchased from Hunan, China. The lotus paste is extremely fine, smooth and creamy to taste with a delicate fragrance.

I used to dislike mixed nuts mooncake a lot but this version has changed my view totally. Mei Xin uses quality almonds, walnuts, olive seeds, sesame and melon seeds in the mixed nuts mooncake. The nuts were chopped coarsely allowing a crunchy texture and satisfied one’s nuts cravings.

While the traditional white lotus paste mooncakes are their best-selling items, low sugar options as well as custard ones are gaining popularity too. These low sugar mooncakes has a low glycaemic index as it is sweetened mainly with malitol – a sugar alcohol. It is the most natural low sugar option in town, hence it is a good option for elderly parents.
Price for Low Sugar (Salted Egg Yolk) Mooncake: $49.50 (6 pcs)
Price for Low Sugar White Lotus Seed Paste (Pine Nuts) Mooncake: $48.50 (6 pcs)
If there is ONE type of Mei-Xin mooncake I would recommend, that will definitely be the Egg Custard Mooncakes. Made with premium butter and light cream from France, the rich and aromatic egg custard mooncake is one of the unique mooncakes I have seen in the market.
Fresh salted egg yolks are first baked to bring out the aromatic oil in them. They are then mixed with the custard filling and coated with a thin crust before it goes back into the oven. This double-baking step makes the mooncake more fragrant and creamy. Plus, the custard contains no artificial colouring!
I really like its pearl white box embossed with gold designs. It is so classy and elegant. How to best enjoy the Egg Custard Mooncake? Heat the mooncake up in a microwave oven for about 5 to 8 seconds and you will get a richer texture and taste.
Price of Premium Egg Custard Mooncake: $42 (8 pcs)
