If you’ve been seeing long queues for hamburg steak concepts overseas, you’ll want to check this out. Niku Niku Oh!! Kome has just opened its second Singapore outlet at Westgate, bringing its interactive teppan dining experience to the west. This is honestly one of the more memorable meals I’ve had this month — I kept thinking about it after.

The brand is developed by Monogatari Corporation, a major Japanese F&B group founded in 1949 with over 700 outlets across Japan. You might already know them from concepts like Yakiniku King and Marugen Ramen.
Since launching in 2022, Niku Niku Oh!! Kome has expanded rapidly across Asia, gaining a strong following for its hamburg steak concept and consistently drawing long queues.
A Live Teppan Experience That’s Fun and Interactive
Dining here is not just about the food, but also the experience. You get a front-row seat to watch the chefs grill your hamburg steak on the teppan before it’s served sizzling on a hot plate.

From there, you can continue cooking the patty yourself to your preferred doneness. It adds a fun, hands-on element to the meal and makes the whole experience feel more personal.
Priced from $16.80, each set includes a complete dining experience with a pasteurised egg, unlimited servings of rice, miso soup and grilled vegetables. This honestly makes it great value, especially if you’re someone who loves your carbs.
Freshly Ground Meat and Freshly Milled Rice
The concept revolves around three core elements — meat, rice and water. Each hamburg steak is made from a blend of cube roll and brisket, freshly ground daily to ensure a juicy texture and deep flavour.
The rice is a blend of Japanese Niji no Kirameki rice and Vietnamese jasmine rice, milled fresh in-house daily to preserve maximum flavour and freshness. It is then cooked using ultra-soft water to enhance its natural taste. Paired together, it creates a simple but very satisfying combination.
My Take: Juicy Patties and Seriously Good Rice
I went for the Original Hamburg Steak, and this was easily my favourite. The patty was really juicy, with a nice balance of fat and meat, and the portion size felt just right — not too heavy, but still satisfying.

What surprised me more was actually the rice. It was so well cooked — fluffy, slightly glossy, and naturally sweet. I finished my bowl without thinking and couldn’t resist going for a top-up, which says a lot.
The soup on my visit was clam soup, which was light yet flavourful, with a nice savoury depth that complemented the meal well. Together with the free-flow vegetables, it made the whole set feel complete.
Creamy Tomato Sauce Hamburg Steak (Limited Time)

From 15 April to end June 2026, the seasonal special is the Creamy Tomato Sauce Hamburg Steak. It features the brand’s signature patty topped with a rich demi-glace sauce, balanced with fresh tomatoes and a touch of cream.
The result is a comforting combination that leans slightly tangy yet smooth, pairing really well with the juicy meat.
Customise It Your Way
What makes the experience even more enjoyable is how customisable it is. You can pair your hamburg steak with different sauces and seasonings, adjusting each bite to your liking. It’s simple, but it keeps the meal interesting from start to finish.
