Follow us as we introduce eight of our favourite F&B options to ring in the new year with!
Gin Khao (#04-29)
Folks with a taste for Thai cuisine will no doubt appreciate the array of authentic dishes Gin Khao has to offer! Gather your loved ones and tuck into their special Auspicious Lucky Red Set. The 4 Pax Set ($108.80++) includes Stewed Soup with Three Treasures, Hot Tofu with Basil, Sweet Garlic Tom Yum Chicken, Red Ruby with Coconut Cream for dessert and of course, their iconic Watermelon Fried Rice that comes laden with all sorts of seafood. Dining out in a pair? The 2 Pax Set ($68.80++) will be perfect for you. The sets are available from 6 to 28 January 2022. There’s no better way to kick off the new year!
JoAh (#03-21/22)
Whether the rainy season is upon us or we’re back to regular sunny days, hotpot is always a good idea. JoAh Korean Restaurant is ready to celebrate the new year with their special Korean Hotpot for CNY ($50++, U.P. $63++), which is available for dine-in from January to February 2022. The set comprises a stew (choose from army, beef bulgogi, and kimchi), either a seafood or kimchi pancake, and two canned drinks. We decided to go for the classic army stew and absolutely loved the aromatic and slightly spicy broth that’s brimming with rice cakes, sausages, noodles and other goodies. Come hungry as the portions are pretty big!
Kotobuki (#04-48)
Step through the doors of Kotobuki and be instantly transported to an izakaya joint in Japan. The quaint Japanese restaurant has been in business since 1981 and is helmed by MasterChef Murata Tomoya from Fukuoka. The restaurant specialises in sashimi, sushi, donburis and bentos, so you definitely shouldn’t miss the Chirashi Don which is a glittering ensemble of fresh sashimi cubes, tamago, a liberal sprinkling of ikura, and a bed of Japanese pearl rice. I especially loved the savoury bursts from the ikura that coated the indulgent sashimi cubes. This is certainly pleasing for both the eyes and taste buds. What’s more, Kotobuki is offering a 10% discount off their Chirashi Don (U.P. $26++) from now until 28 January 2022.
Namino Hana (#B1-23)
Fuel up for the rest of the day with Namino Hana’s wholesome Japanese bentos, complete with carbs, protein and vegetables. Amongst their offerings of traditional homemade Japanese food, our favourite is the Homemade Wagyu Hamburger Bento ($15.80, U.P. $17.80) that sees deliciously hearty pan-fried hamburg steak drizzled in a sweet teriyaki sauce sitting atop fluffy Japanese premium rice, accompanied with an ajitsuke egg, mushrooms and onions, and either a side of crisp salad or a drink. We can definitely see ourselves ordering this every week, especially since this special promo will last from now until 28 February 2022.
Pink Fish (#B1-16)
Pink Fish is ready to welcome health, wealth and prosperity in the Year of the Tiger with their Auspicious Lo Hei (from $11.80 for individual servings, $29.80 for family-size)! Made with only fresh garden picks and golden salted egg fish skin for a savoury crunch, the yusheng is topped generously with meaty chunks of fresh Norwegian salmon, and dressed with a specially-concocted plum sauce armed with refreshingly sweet and tangy notes. Folks who aren’t fans of raw food can opt for their equally tasty grilled salmon to go with your lo hei. Qin Ji Rougamo (#B1-28/29)
Serving up the best authentic snacks and meals originating from Shan Xi and Sichuan provinces, Qin Ji Rougamo is best known for their uber-crispy roujiamo and potato noodle dishes. Enjoy a 15% discount off their Set A($14.90) comprising Sour & Spicy Potato Noodle with Minced Pork Qinji Rougamo, and your choice of drink(Fresh Soy Milk, Grass Jelly Milk Tea or Ice Peak Orange Soda). Have a ravenous appetite? umisushi is gearing up to celebrate the Year of the Tiger in full force with their umi Huat Huat Yu Sheng ($98.88), carefully assembled into the shape of a tiger! This adorable platter highlights fresh Norwegian salmon slices, hand-shredded vegetables, an ensemble of vibrant traditional yusheng condiments, and a tangy plum sauce. Complete your feast with the Golden Majestic Sushi Platter ($68.88 / $78.88 (31st Jan-2nd Feb).
