Tucked within the lush greenery which surrounds Bukit Timah Saddle Club, Pantry at the Stables offers a unique dining locale surrounded by the rare natural setting of Singapore’s country-side with a reflection of the modern bistro’s all- time favourites in addition to new signature dishes.

Marmalade
Dinner at Pantry at the Stables is a casual, intimate affair. You can relax with cocktails on French striped deck chairs which overlook the surrounding greenery or be seated in the main dining room for your meals.

The all-day a la carte menu at Pantry at the Stables introduces a selection of new signatures while showcasing a list of all-time favourites from Pantry in the City. The restaurant has also introduced a 3-course set dinner menu ($38++) with selections that change every 2 weeks.

Mexican Chicken Salad ($22)
Mexican Chicken Salad is served with crispy tortilla, avocado, spiced corn and salsa. The salad is drizzled with honey, cumin and lime, giving it a sweet and sour, yet tangy taste.

IMG_2866
Pumpkin Soup (from set dinner menu)
Pumpkin soup is a great and filling entree. The pumpkin soup is very thick and lightly spiced.

Pan Seared Haloumi ($21)
Haloumi is a mild yet salty cheese from Greece. This Greek staple is a brilliant substitute for meat and it’s especially wonderful with fresh herbs and sweet, ripe tomatoes. The cheese is pan fried till you get a savoury and chewy texture and drizzled with tangy spicy red wine vinaigrette.

Spaghetti Carbonara ($24)
One of the must-try at Pantry at the Stables is the Spaghetti Carbonara. This unique version of the traditional Italian dish sees a poached egg perched atop a mound of spaghetti in cream sauce.

Making a perfect poached egg is just as difficult as achieving a nice plate of spaghetti carbonara. I guessed we spent too much time taking photographs that night, the supposedly perfectly poached egg became slightly cooked and not as flowing when it was burst opened.

Pan Roasted Red Snapper ($28)
The red snapper is pan roasted in parsley herb crust and paired with home made ratatouille sauce and shaved fennel . I find the snapper too dry, I would prefer it to be pan seared.

IMG_2964
Steak and Eggs ($38)
Steak was served on a skillet, accompanied by smashed peas and two sunny-side ups. It is available on both the brunch and a la carte menus. The steak could have done better, it wasn’t as tender as I expected.

Parmesan Chicken (from set dinner menu)
My favorite dish for the night would be Parmesan Chicken. Chicken breast was dredged in bread crumbs and Parmesan, and baked until crisp. The Parmesan coating gives a satisfying crunch and the meat stays tender. It was paired with broccoli and toasted almond, served with brown butter mustard sauce.

Lemon Brulee Tart ($14)

The idea of having creme brulee in a tart was an interesting one. The lemon infused custard with cream chantilly was refreshing but I would love the tart to be slightly thicker.

IMG_2973
Chocolate Ganache Tart (from set dinner menu)
Chocolate Ganache Tart for the chocolate lovers. The chocolate ganache was very thick and it came with granny smith apples and vanilla bean ice cream. I would love to have some raspberries to go with it.

Sea Salt Caramel Cheesecake ($8)
Sea salt and caramel is a perfect combination. The cheesecake was smooth, rich and creamy. However, the sea salt caramel was too light for me.

Sticky Date and Toffee Pudding ($12)
The Sticky Date and Toffee Pudding in Marmalade Pantry is highly raved by many food reviewers. And sure enough, it didn’t disappoint. The warm and dense sticky date pudding was served with a luscious scoop of vanilla ice-cream and some creamy butterscotch sauce. Yes, it is indeed one of the best sticky date pudding in town!

In the next few months, Pantry at the Stables will be introducing a new tree house and play area for children. From activity packs and cooking classes for kids and adults to weekend barbecue and roasts, Pantry at the Stables aims to create a family-friendly concept as unique as its location. The bakery at the stables will also be transformed into a retail space where Marmalade Pantry’s cake and pastry fans can walk in and pick up their favourite items either to take away or dine-in.
