4 Delicious New Fusion Flavours on PastaMania’s Kampong Pleasures menu

I’ve been visiting PastaMania for as long as I can remember. This casual dining restaurant, which serves up a huge variety of pastas and mains, is especially popular with students. The new Kampong Pleasures menu will impress the older generation who love familiar local flavours.

4 new fusion flavours will be released every phase, and there are 3 phases in total. For the first phase, the new flavours are Salted Egg Chicken, Beef Rendang, Laksa Seafood and Black Pepper Chicken. The pasta dishes are priced at $12.90 each, and diners can top up $5.50 for a soup set (soup & garlic bread and soft drink), or $6.50 for a snack set (choice of appetiser: chicken wings, cheddar cheese sticks, calamari etc along with a soft drink) to complete your meal. During the promotional period, patrons can change their usual soft drink to a refreshing tangy lime soda for just an additional $1.

First up, we have the Salted Egg Chicken pasta. Salted egg has been all the rage for quite some time now. Paired with your choice of pasta including spaghetti, linguine, penne and fusilli (we like fusilli!), the salted egg sauce is slightly grainy and extremely flavourful. The thick and rich sauce clings onto the twists of the pasta, bringing more sauce with every mouthful. Deep fried chicken chunks coated with the same salted egg sauce complements the palatable dish. Despite being drenched in the salted egg sauce, the chicken chunks retain a slight crisp and are extremely addictive.

The Beef Rendang pasta is one of my personal favourites. Beef rendang should be no stranger to Singaporeans. It is a rich coconut-infused beef stew with tender chunks of beef. PastaMania’s rendition of Beef Rendang pasta sees strands of spaghetti tossed with a delicious beef rendang sauce, curry leaves, olives and bell peppers. The succulent chunks of beef are made even more flavourful with the inclusion of coconut milk, turmeric, lemongrass and other spices. The vegetables help to add a refreshing crunch to the thick and robust sauce. This plate of pasta might just blow you away!

We can have laksa for breakfast, lunch, dinner and even supper. So why not marry laksa with pasta? PastaMania’s Laksa Seafood pasta is bound to be a hit. Imagine fresh prawns, juicy mussels and al dente pasta dressed in a sweet, tangy and slightly spicy laksa sauce. Just the description of that has me drooling! The generous amount of seafood will definitely please your tastebuds and stomachs. The thick laksa sauce which is flavoured with coconut milk and dried shrimps, is absolutely scrumptious.

The Black Pepper Chicken pasta packs a surprising punch. Paired with penne and the same deep fried chicken found in the Salted Egg Yolk pasta, the earthy black pepper sauce warms your belly with each bite. By the way, potassium, which is found in black pepper, is beneficial towards digestion and intestinal health. More reasons to indulge in this tantalizing dish!

Apart from the latest pasta additions that you certainly must try, PastaMania’s appetizers are not to be missed too. Grab a few side dishes for an extra hearty meal! The juicy Deep Fried Chicken Wings ($5.50 for 2) have a scrumptious crackling skin and is a crowd-favourite. We also love the Cheddar Cheese Sticks ($5.90 for 6) which are coated with bread-crumbs and fried to golden brown perfection. Expect a burst of smooth melted cheese in your mouth as you satiate your growling tummy while waiting for your pasta to arrive.

So… which pasta flavour will you be trying first? PastaMania is now giving YOU the chance to make your new favourite dish a permanent item on their menu. More Fusion Mania pastas will be introduced in the next 2 phases. Psst, the next one is slated for mid-July and includes spicy flavours like Indian Curry, Thai Red Curry and even Cincalok.

By the end of the promotional period, 6 out of the 12 Fusion Mania pastas will be converted to mainstays on PastaMania’s regular menu. Voting can be done in-store or via www.pastamania.sg/votes. Simply purchase one of the four Fusion Mania dishes and fill in the voting slip that is provided, before dropping it into the voting box in the restaurant. Every vote submitted through the online portal entitles voters to a 10% discount voucher for use on their next visit.

During each phase, 10 winners who voted for the winning dish will walk away with $100 cash and $100 PastaMania vouchers. Grand campaign winners will be picked from those who voted for the final 6 dishes. Attractive prizes such as $500 cash and $500 PastaMania vouchers await.
