Peking Duck lovers have another reason to indulge as Jade restaurant’s signature Peking Duck Feast returns from now to 31 March 2014. Master Chef Leong Chee Yeng together with his culinary team are delighted to present a flavourful 6-course set dinner featuring the roasted delicacy in creative ways.

At $58 per person, the gastronomic journey begins with a Roasted Peking Duck with Marinated Orange Peel, Yellow Bean Sauce and Cucumber wrapped in Pancake. The housemade minced orange peel gives a tangy, fruity lift as you bite into the crispy, succulent Peking Duck skin.

There were other highlights such as Pumpkin Soup with Duck and Shrimp Wanton and Steamed Silken Chawanmushi with Crabmeat. The former offers a silky smooth pumpkin soup which leaves a light and refreshing aftertaste. But the wanton, unfortunately, is too thick-skinned. Chawanmushi is memorable as the chef has drizzled some truffle oil and served with crabmeat.

I think the set meal is quite worth it especially when Sautéed Duck Meat is served with with Pan Seared Foie Gras and Green Asapargus. They took good care while frying the duck meat and it was pretty tender. Fragrant Fried Rice with Diced Duck Meat and Scallop in XO Sauce is very fragrant and has wok hei.

Dessert was shaved rose coconut ice cream with fresh strawberry. The ice cream unfortunately has a slight bitter aftertaste on that day.

For a limited period this month, you can also order a Whole Peking Duck, served with zesty Marinated Orange Peel and housemade Pancakes at a special price of S$48 (usual price S$76).

Jade restaurant’s Peking Duck Feast is available from now to 31 March 2014 from 6.30pm to 10.30pm at $58 per person and $38 per child (6 to 11 years old).
