Rahmath Cheese Prata is a hidden gem! Usually I visit this hawker centre for Gen Shu’s cantonese food. I wouldn’t have know about Rahmath if I wasn’t planning the Toa Payoh makan trail!

Rahmath Cheese Prata has received Makansutra’s five-chopsticks ‘Divine’ award and is a hot favourite amongst Toa Payoh residents. The owner, Mr Ali, learnt the art of prata-making from a friend many years ago and opened his first shop in Ang Mo Kio. He moved to Toa Payoh 11 years ago. Rahmath is the name of his grandfather.

They make the prata fresh so you will always get it nice and hot. From the signboard, we know that cheese prata is their signature item but we prefer their plain and egg prata. The portion is generous and the outer layer is more doughy and soft.

The egg prata is a popular item here as well. It has got a fragrant buttery aroma and is eggy enough. We are more impressed with the kosong prata which is light, fluffy, and crispy. Don’t forget to dip it in the curry which has a nice gritty texture.

If you wish to try their prata, go before 1.30pm. Because after that, they will be selling mee goreng.
