Staycation at Quincy Hotel
November 09, 2012

I celebrated the boyfriend’s birthday last weekend. His birthday was on Sunday, so both of us took leave on Monday and booked a staycation at Quincy Hotel.
We checked in on a lovely Sunday morning. There was a nice fragrance lingering in the lobby. Sorry, you can’t smell it.
A very friendly receptionist guided us to our room and explained the facilities to us. The hotel provides Molten Brown bath amenities! Aiyo, of course must use!
You know, whenever you go into a hotel, you probably have to pay for most of the drinks in the fridge. But in quincy hotel, EVERYTHING IN THE FRIDGE IS FREE! So are the potato chips, the tea bags, the biscuits etc.
You can also charge your phones lah, and the remote control is placed in a pretty red leather cover.
On top of that, we were given a bottle of red wine. FREE! FREE! FREE!
Besides all these, they also have classes for guests! There is zumba class, baking class etc. The boyfriend signed us up for a breading pudding baking class! I was so excited and looking forward to it. Unfortunately, when we asked the staff, we realized the classes are only conducted on Saturdays. Haiya, we should have checked in on Saturday!
Nevermind lah, no classes we just go down to eat lunch. Our staycation package includes 1 breakfast, 1 lunch, 1 dinner! Very good hor!
To begin with, we had some salads.
The boyfriend had Nasi Goreng topped with fried egg, and served with chicken wing, prawn crackers and sambal chilli.
I had Seafood Kway Teow with prawns, squid and sliced fish.
To our big surprise, the friendly receptionist who served us came with a cake after our lunch! We were definitely pleasantly surprised because we only checked in less than an hour. She is indeed very attentive!
We were too full from our lunch, so we went to 12th floor to take a look at the gym and the indoor swimming pool which is opened 24 hours!
I don’t have to crack my brains to think of where to eat for dinner. Because it’s all provided in Quincy Hotel! The boy spent the rest of the afternoon doing his work while I just watched TV, tweet, play with mobile phones and do nothing! 😀
We had Creamy Chicken Soup, Sirloin Steak, Penne with Pork Sausage in Red Wine Sauce and Strawberry Custard Cake for dinner. Then we headed to Far East Plaza for some shopping before going to Shaw for Skyfall movie. We seldom watch midnight shows unless we are overseas or having staycation because both of us live quite far apart. Skyfall was very exciting, I think James Bond looked so much older now. But he is still very attractive lah.
The next day, we woke up late and nearly missed the breakfast. The boy had a bad running nose so he continued to sleep after breakfast while I walked around the hotel and played with my digital camera. I haven’t been using it for a long time. This time, I decided to carry light for the staycation. These are some of the B&W photos I took of the hotel!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Quincy Hotel. It is quite accessible, we can just take a slow stroll and reach Orchard within 10 mins. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to try out the baking and zumba class. But it is alright, I can hide under my blanket and finish all the free chips and drinks in the room!
Happy birthday to my happy man! 🙂
