HarriAnns Nonya Table’s Signature Kueh Platter ($65.00) is like a colourful treasure chest of traditional Peranakan delicacies. The tasting platter consists of nine best-selling items such as bite-sized Rainbow Kueh Lapis, mini Ang Ku Kueh Peanut and Ondeh Ondeh Gula Melaka that bursts in your mouth. Ichiban Boshi (Fountain Court, #B1-111)

One of our favourite sushi places has given the traditional Pen Cai a twist with premium Japanese ingredients, to create their first-ever Japanese Treasure Pot ($188 for four to five pax). This online-exclusive dish, which is available for pick-up at the Suntec City outlet, boasts a dazzling selection that includes whole abalone, Hokkaido sashimi-grade scallops, snow crab leg meat, and a sprinkling of gold flakes. Talk about fancy! And don’t even get me started on their delicious superior stock broth. Of course, no CNY is complete without the customary Yu Sheng platter, so don’t miss Ichiban Boshi’s best-selling Salmon Yuzu Yu Sheng (starts from $36.80 for two to three pax) which comes with their signature Yuzu sauce made with ingredients from Japan, and fresh Norwegian salmon sashimi. The Yu Sheng is available for both dine-in and takeaway.

Known for their yummy Taiwanese snacks made with ingredients directly imported from Taiwan, KAZO puts a festive spin on baked goods to celebrate the new year. Among the treats in their CNY Gift Box ($28), my favourite is the creamy Yuzu Cheese Tart which is very well balanced in flavours — savoury, sweet, and sour. They also have a Chicken Floss Roll and a unique Bak Kwa Pound Cake, both of which are pillowy-soft. For your fill of CNY must-haves, their CNY Set of 2 ($34) has the all-time favourite Pineapple Tarts as well as indulgent Dark Chocolate Fudge Cookies.

You’re in for a sweet treat with Krispy Kreme’s exclusive festive flavours! The Year of the Ox is perfectly encapsulated in their adorable Lucky Moo Moo doughnut, dipped in white and dark chocolate with a delectable cookie butter filling. In true CNY fashion, we have the chocolate-filled Auspicious Mandarin adorned with the Chinese “Ji” character for prosperity. Those with a sweet-tooth who can’t get enough can indulge in the special ‘Huat Huat’ Half Dozen Box ($19.80, U.P. $26.20) that is loaded with six Chinese New Year specials and two of my absolute favourite original glazed doughnuts. For double the joy, there’s also the ‘Huat Huat’ Dozen Box ($38.00, U.P. $52.40).

Paradise Dynasty (Fountain Court, #B1-110)

Explore a world of authentic flavours and tradition in Paradise Dynasty’s northern and southern Chinese cuisine. Our highlight of the season definitely has to be the Deep-Fried Crispy Duck served with Lotus Bun. The tender meat and crispy skin are placed into the pillowy-soft buns alongside crunchy cucumber and radish before being drizzled with sweet sauce. Coming in at a close second is the Deep-Fried Marble Goby with Sweet and Sour Sauce. The fish is prepared using the crosshatch cutting technique and boy, it makes the exterior nice and crispy! The flesh inside remains tender and goes wonderfully with the sauce.
