Gone are the days when we blindly wander around Singapore looking for supper options to indulge in past midnight. With so many options available, it’s hard to narrow down where to meet up with your supper kakis. Fret not, we have a brand-new supper place that has our personal stamp of approval to recommend! Located along Desker Road, Super Supper is ready and raring to go with their repertoire of Asian-Western fusion creations.

The air-conditioned space has a very old-school feel to it. It is completed with long, plush booth seats, rattan chairs and plain white walls. Orders can be placed via the kiosks near the counter where you collect your food or through QR codes attached to each table.

Pop up to the second floor which opens up to an even bigger space, and cosy al fresco seating!

Built for those with hearty appetites, the Sanuki Udon with Crispy Fried Chicken ($10.90) was like a summer festival come to life in terms of visuals, aroma and taste. The chewy udon noodles were coated in a luscious savoury sauce that melded perfectly with the sweet tanginess of the mayonnaise.

The fried chicken was super tender and juicy, and was armed with a slight smokiness and heat from the red pepper powder sprinkled onto it. I love how there was a slight crisp from the chicken skin that didn’t draw attention away from the chook itself and perfectly highlighted the meat instead. Originally, the dish was supposed to come with the crab UFOs, but they were unfortunately not in stock that day.

The Super Supper Smoked Pork Belly Roll ($9.90) featured a large slab of Brazilian pork belly sandwiched between a pillowy roll that is complemented by thinly sliced cucumbers and wasabi mayo. Having been smoked for long hours, the fork-tender pork belly had a juicy mix of meat and fat, and was very satisfying.

The roll came with a side of crispy wedges that were very addictive to munch on but could be a tad salty for some folks.

A hot item among customers and personally recommended by Raymond Tan, the owner of Super Supper himself, the Cheese Steak Roll ($10.90) was just as much of a stunner. The thin slices of New Zealand rib-eye was slightly sweet and paired well with the savoury richness of the gooey cheese and caramelised onions.

Inspired by Raymond’s wife’s accidental recipe, the Lao Po Blackened Wings ($7.90 for seven pieces) captured my attention instantly with its aroma and unusually dark exterior. Biting into it released a peppery flavour accentuated by a herbal taste that came from a secret ingredient. Sprinkle on some red chilli flakes for a spicy kick.

Not only are a number of their dishes pleasing to the eye, their flavours are off the charts and portions generous. Super Supper is definitely looking to be a popular choice for folks of all ages. And don’t be fooled by its name; the eatery opens its doors at 12pm for hungry visitors to pop by during lunch and dinner as well!
