Thai Gold Food – Cheap & Good Thai Food
After I came back from Bangkok, I was craving for Thai food so much that I asked to nuffies to go for Thai lunch with me one fine day. There were so much reviews on Aroy Dee, so I assumed that it would be good. When we sat down and start ordering, we were very disappointed because whatever dishes we ordered, they didn’t have them. I wanted to order Pad Thai, they said they didn’t have it in this shop. I wanted basil chicken, they said they didn’t have it too.
So we decided to leave. Gabby’s boyfriend, Leroy, who was meeting us for lunch, headed straight to Thai Gold Food upon arriving and thought we were there. He has tried both restaurant and told us that Thai Gold Food (next to Aroy Dee) was actually much better.
Tom Yam Talay ($8) was flavoursome and the balance in flavours was certainly worth flattering. They were quite generous with the ingredients such as prawns, squid, mushrooms etc. The abundance of herbs and spices give the soup a solid punch of sour tinge and lingering spicy aftertaste.
I really enjoyed Deep Fried Pork with Garlic ($8). The pork smells and tastes very delicious, with the flavoursome garlic.
We also ordered Omelet Pork ($6).
Here’s a tasty plate of Papaya Salad ($5) with spicy lime dressing. Every bite came with a nice crunch and an explosive burst of flavours – sour, sweet and spicy!
Stir fried chicken with chilli basil leaves ($8) is too oily for my liking. But the spiciness gives a kick and if it is less oily, it will be great accompaniment with rice.
Pairing it with classic Thai Milk Tea ($1.80).
I enjoyed my Thai food at Thai Gold Food. Their dishes are affordable and delicious. Will go back there next time to try their Pad Thai.
