The Crab Feast is Back at PARKROYAL on Beach Road
Are you craving for crabs? From 5 June to 31 August 2013, Plaza Brasserie at PARKROYAL on Beach Road will be offering the sumptuous Crab Feast every dinner!
Chef Jackson’s Black Pepper Crab has not much gravy but the pepper was definitely strong, which made the crab very tasty, and the meat was firm, moist and had a sweet aftertaste.
I thought Nonya Curry Crab was slightly too overpowering. The sauce is great but too spicy for me.
Salted Egg Crab is still my favourite. The fat crabs were generously coated with salted egg mixture which gave a burst of flavor and a delightful texture which contrasted well with the tender and delicate crab meat.
Baked Crab appeared in a bed of salt. We initially thought it was steamed crabs, but was shocked by the amount of salt on the crab shells. Nevertheless, I love the simplicity but great taste of baked crab; and the flavours were intensified with their homemade chilli sauce.
Something new and unique this year is Crab with Tang Gui. The crabs were soaking in a herbal jacuzzi. The broth has a mild infusion of herbs and seafood flavours, bringing out the sweetness from the crabs. The crab meat definitely paired well with the herbal soup.
There were other crabs such as chilli crab, Butter Crab, Stirred Fried Crab with Egg Yolk and XO Crab. But my hands were too dirty to take any photos.
Besides these crabs, you can choose from a range of appetizers such as Dijon Crab Cakes with Coriander Paste, Chicken Salad with Pesto, Tang Hoon Salad, Spicy Tuna Salad, Bread Crab Claw, Mini Crab Meat Samosas, Olive & Potato Crabmeat Balls with Pesto, Crabmeat Paste, Baked Whole Salmon with Spicy Dip and a variety of Dim Sums.
At the Noodles Section, take please in our selection of Curry Noodle with Soft Shell Crab Mee Poh Noodles with Soft Shell Crabs and Laksa with Soft Shell Crabs and much more.
At the hot dishes section, there is Stir-Fried Squid with Celery in “XO” Sauce, Oatmeal Prawns, Nonya Curry Chicken, Eight Treasure Duck, Steam Fish in “Hong Kong” Style, Fried Baby Kai Lan and Crabmeat Fried Rice, Crispy Soft Shell Crabs and Braised Sea Cucumber with Roast Pork and Mushrooms.
If you have a sweet-tooth, savour a range of delicious desserts ranging from Sweet Potato, Water Chestnut, Bubur Cha Cha, Mini French Pastries, Chocolate Truffle and Cheese Cake, Assorted Ice-Creams, Fresh Fruits, Almond Beancurd, Chin Chow, Rice Pudding with Vanilla Sauce, American Cheesecake, Chocolate Fondue served with Fresh Fruits, Dried Fruits and Marshmallows.
