There’s nothing I love more than enjoying my food, especially seafood, while being surrounded by lush nature. I love it when it’s just me and my food, away from the rest of the world, because I can stuff myself silly, and happily descend into a food coma, all while taking in fresh air and basking in a hard-to-find tranquility. If this sounds like your idea of a lovely food-filling evening as well, you need to check out The Three Peacocks!

Nestled away in Labrador Park, The Three Peacocks is known for having the largest outdoor live seafood BBQ buffet in Singapore. Don’t be surprised if you see a few hens and roosters, and a beautiful strutting peacock as you make your way here.

Fashioned almost like a market where customers can pick and choose whatever seafood they fancy, Three Peacocks has an elaborate display of loads of white fish, squid, salmon fillet and lots of shellfish like white clams, gong gong, half-shell scallops, New Zealand half green mussels, crayfish, live oysters and even live mud crabs. It was certainly a feast for the eyes!

Make sure to use the given aluminium foil when you’re cooking your seafood! We learnt the hard way that fish does not go directly on the grill. Special shoutout to their giant tiger prawns; which were super-duper fresh and full of sweetness!

Mentaiko scallop fans, you’re in luck because Three Peacocks will  help you grill up one mean mentaiko scallop. All you have to do is ask and you shall receive; a staff member will layer a generous topping of cheese and mentaiko sauce onto your scallops before blow-torching it into a decadently oozy masterpiece.

Every dine-in customer will be entitled to half a lobster! Meanwhile, instead of their usual boston lobster there will be a free upgrade to rock lobster only for a limited time, while stocks last! You may also look out for their take away menu that is still available from $53++!

While I’d love to gorge myself on their fresh bounty of seafood-y goodness, I couldn’t forget about their stunning selection of over 25 different cuts and marinated chicken, pork and beef. It was almost impossible to try everything without being stuffed to the brim. But hey, it’s a buffet so pace well and treat yourself!

Some of the most popular choices include Korean spicy chicken, thick-cut pork belly, Korean marinated big bone galbi, and boneless short ribs. They even have a range of Wagyu cuts like chuck rolls and briskets!

While the marinated meats are enjoyable enough on their own, there are more than 20 house-made dipping sauces to give your barbecued meats a little oomph. Some of my favourite dips are garlic butter, shogayaki, sukiyaki, yakitori and mentaiko. If you fancy something stronger that will give your meat a good kick, the black layu adds a nice peppery boost.

One of the dipping sauces that came out on top for me was the teriyaki, which I used to dip the wagyu beef cubes in. The juicy and tender meat which we cooked to perfection (kudos to us, yay) just melted in our mouths. I paired my black pork collar with yakitori sauce for that “izakaya feel”.

Apart from cooking up your own food, go ham on Three Peacocks’ international buffet spread which promises piping-hot food of various cuisines. Western favourites include four different types of pizza like Pepperoni and Hawaiian, and platters of Asian classics feature Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs, Thai Green Chilli Chicken Chop, Indonesian Kecap-Manis Prawn Ball and Yang Zhou Fried Rice.

On the other side of the buffet line are Japanese staples of maki, teppanyaki and fried food like karaage. They even brought back their Ponzu Yuzu Dressing Salmon Carpaccio! If I had to only pick one, I would go for the Aburi Salmon Maki which is too good to resist. Just so you know it’s all free flow for their buffet!

The Charcoal section has even more culinary treasures that will tempt you into devoting your stomach to just that alone. Picture mouth-watering plates of BBQ Pork Ribs, BBQ Pork Belly, Grilled Garlic Chicken, Ikan Bakar Stingray and Otah.

While picking out your desired items at buffets will only happen again in the future (hopefully soon!), picking and portioning out your food has been made possible, with the help of their friendly staff. Simply let them know what you would like and they’ll serve it to you right on the spot.

It might be a bit out of the way for folks like me who take public transportation, but dining al fresco away from the hustle and bustle of city life, is a whole new experience that one should certainly have a go at. They also provide shuttle buses every 30 mins from 5pm onwards till 10.30pm!

The incredibly expansive and exciting repertoire of food would have you feasting non-stop for three hours, and still not having tried everything on the menu. Enjoy all this at the price of $50.90++ on weekdays and $55.90++ on weekends for adults — what an absolute steal for so much food!

My tastebuds were pampered, and my tummy exceedingly satisfied, and there’s still so many items that I didn’t manage to try! Needless to say, I’ll definitely be returning again! This is undoubtedly one buffet that you must not miss!
