Tian Wai Tian Fish Head Steamboat

I am so glad there is a Tian Wai Tian Fish Head Steamboat outlet just a few metres away from my house. There used to be many cze char stalls at that coffeeshop but none of them lasted long. But ever since  Tian Wai Tian took over, business is booming and it is impossible to get a table during weekends, unless you make a reservation early!

Tian Wai Tian Fish Head Steamboats' Medium Fish Head Steamboat (Red Grouper)

Tian Wai Tian Fish Head Steamboat is one of the best teochew fishhead steamboat in Singapore! You can choose red grouper or promfret steamboat. I ordered Medium Fish Head Steamboat (Red Grouper, $32) because it has more meat and easier for my Grandpa. The meat was sweet and juicy.

Soup was coupled with delicious yam and lettuce, and flavoured with ginger, sour plums and dried plaice, which makes it very delicious. Charcoal was used to keep the soup warm. Best thing is, you can top up the soup! But don’t expect it to be as flavourful as the first round.

Tian Wai Tian Fish Head Steamboat: Salad Tofu

The aunty recommended the Salad Tofu ($13) which I felt was abit too dry.

Tian Wai Tian Fish Head Steamboat: Cereal Prawns

But we surely love the Cereal Prawns ($20) The prawns were big and fresh, smothered with crispy fragrant cereal.

Tian Wai Tian Fish Head Steamboat: Mixed Vegetables

We need some Mixed Vegetables ($12) as there was too much meat.

Tian Wai Tian Fish Head Steamboat: Hae Zou

Hae Zou ($10) is also another dish worth recommending. It was flavourful and had chunks of water chestnuts in it to give it lots of crunch.

Tian Wai Tian Fish Head Steamboat: Salted Egg Pork Ribs

We like the Salted Egg Pork Ribs ($12), it wasn’t too hard and even though it doesn’t look visually appealing, it has the right amount of saltiness. But I actually prefer it to be salted egg yolk sauce, imagine the spoonful of buttery goodness in my mouth…

Hi there, have been reading your blog for quite some time and enjoyed it! πŸ™‚

I've been to this outlet with my family a few times, do try the chilli prawns with omelette (forgot what's the menu name), it's really yummy too! The prawn paste chicken wings are very nice as well. πŸ˜‰
