Doubling as a Bar and Gelato Shop, Wicked Good screams American Diner meets hip modern vibes. The Ice Cream Parlour dressed in pink and yellow sits upstairs on the ground floor. But as you enter through the opening bathed in neon lighting, expect to be transported into a hidden basement Bar with a wall of NFT art pieces staring at you as you head down the stairs.

After soaking in our surroundings, my dining companions and I decided to head straight for two of the three burgers they offer. First up was their Smash ‘N’ Dash Burger ($15) that saw two Black Angus Beef patties, Smoked American Cheese and sliced house-made pickles sandwiched between toasted Brioche Buns.

Having requested them to slice my burger into half, I was expecting the beef to be on the slightly drier side. To my surprise, I was presented with juicy patties done to a perfect medium and seasoned just right. As I sunk my teeth into it, I appreciated how the saltiness of the cheese paired beautifully with the patties and buttery buns. That, coupled with the crunch from the pickles, made this a dangerously addictive burger.

Because I enjoyed them a little too much, here’s a special shoutout for the pickles! The sourness was just enough to counter the meatiness of the patties without overpowering the flavours. On top of that, the sharpness from the brine also helped to cut through the creaminess of the cheese. Do they sell a jar of pickles on its own? Because I’ll definitely buy one to snack on!

Their Ez Chick Sandwich ($12.50) is like a fried chicken fanatic’s dream. Just imagine a thick juicy piece of fried chicken coated in Buttermilk batter, topped with some creamy Chipotle Aioli. Ooh! Similar to the cheeseburger, I had requested for this to be sliced into two.

Unfortunately, as I split the halves, I was greeted by some pinkish chicken in the middle of the patty. The staff quickly offered to change my burger for me though and the second time I was served, they definitely redeemed themselves.

This time round, the chicken was well cooked and tender to the bite. The tinge of smokiness from the aioli added an extra layer to the flavourful chicken while the shredded lettuce and pickles gave a refreshing touch to every bite.

The last of the three mains they offer would be the Spam-kin’ Good Burger ($10) that comes filled with spam, creamy scrambled eggs and cheese.

For sides, we decided to indulge in their Dredged Onion Rings ($8). This came coated in the same buttermilk batter as the chicken burger. Needless to say, this savoury, crispy side was gone in seconds.

Besides these mains and a more extensive list of sides, they also offer Craft Beers for those looking for a drink after work. Otherwise they also serve up other beverages such as a good old Coke or Root Beer Float ($4.50).

The chicken burger mishap aside, my experience there was rather enjoyable thanks to the friendly staff who came by to share with us more about their menu! You will definitely see me back here again to try the gelato!
