Some recipes might be time-consuming but the easy number of steps (and the tasty end result!) more than make up for it. Preparing Bubur Pulut Hitam (black glutinous rice dessert soup) the old-fashioned way involves long hours of stirring when you’re cooking it on a stove. Use a pressure cooker or rice cooker instead! Not only is it still simple to put together, it also means you don’t have to constantly stand watch over it.

This delicious treat can be enjoyed piping hot or at room temperature! Extra tips for the rice: soaking it overnight (or for at least four hours) or even grinding it up in a food processor beforehand will help speed up the process by a lot! In which case, just 15-30 minutes in the pressure cooker will do.
