BudgetMealGoWhere – Affordable and Delicious Budget Meals in HDB Coffee Shops

In an effort to address cost-of-living pressures and to support the community, the Housing & Development Board (HDB) and the Government Technology Agency (GovTech) have collaborated to launch BudgetMealGoWhere – a portal to help find affordable meal options in Singapore.
BudgetMealGoWhere is a user-friendly website that aims to help residents easily locate HDB coffee shops offering budget meals, typically priced below $4, making affordable and delicious food options more accessible to everyone.

In their commitment to alleviate the pressures of living costs, HDB has taken significant steps to expand the budget meal programme. Under a new initiative announced earlier this year, HDB now requires rental coffee shops up for renewal to include budget meal options as part of their tenancy renewal conditions. Currently, there are already more than 80 coffee shops island wide listed on the website. This means that you will have greater access to affordable meal choices!

Recognising that operators and stallholders face cost pressures too, HDB is committed to supporting their efforts in providing affordable food options. To help ease the transition for coffee shop operators and stall holders, HDB will offer a small rental discount of 5% off the renewal rents for a period of one year from the time the tenancy is renewed. This initiative will help ensure the sustainability of their businesses, so they can continue offering budget meals to residents in their community. It’s heartwarming to witness the collective support for both operators and residents in fostering a vibrant and inclusive community.
