Welcome the prosperous Lunar New Year of the Goat at Concorde Hotel Singapore with a sumptous spread of Chinese New Year specialities. For a classic Yu Sheng, Concorde’s Salmon & Tuna Yu Sheng with plum sauce will tease your tastebuds with fresh salmon and tuna sashimi, golden crackers, chunks of pomelo and any orange peels. More, please.

It is available from 9 February to 5 March from 12pm to 10.30pm. It is priced from $28 (small), $48 (medium) and $68 (large). When dining at Singapore Flavours Buffet Lunch or Harvest of the Sea Buffet Dinner, you can enjoy it at a special price for $18 (small), $28 (medium) or $38 (large).

Spoil your family for choices with the lavish spread featuring Chinese New Year traditional Braised Eight Treasures including sea cucumber, scallops, fish lip, fish maw, sea shell meat, crab meat, enoki and chinese mushrooms. My favourite is the Live Prawns drenched in Chinese Herbs and Wine. Prawns are fresh and I can’t stop drinking the soup.

Something new this year is the Baked Pork Rib with Sweet Orange Sauce. The pork ribs are quite fork tender but the orange sauce is too sweet for me which totally covered up the flavours of the pork ribs. If you are a fan of seafood, check out the Braised lobster and Abalone with Chinese Mushroom and Kai Lan. The lobster that day didn’t impress. However, Steamed Garoupa with Soya Sauce and Fried Garlic looks promising with fried garlic being used to mask any fishiness and drench in steaming hot soy sauce.

During the CNY buffet menu, you can also indulge in hearty dishes such as roast US prime rib of beef with creamed goose liver sauce, roast pork belly and dried oyster and mixed mushrooms in superior sauce, stewed lamb loin with red wine etc. Immerse in the festive atmosphere while you have your photos taken with the God of Fortune for good luck as he makes his rounds on 18 and 19 February 2015 in Spices Cafe, Concorde Ballroom, and the Lobby Lounge.
