Yes, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you.
It has been in my mind for the longest time. The supposedly Singaporean Chinese Food Blogger has finally decided to go for a switch from a Chinese blog to an English one. Trust me, it hasn’t been an easy decision.
I have to accept the fact that, Singapore has a small Chinese readership, and the younger generation probably has difficulty with Chinese language. With more than 30% of my readers from U.S. and Australia, I want Miss Tam Chiak to do more than what it is now. To make a difference in everyone’s lives.
There are many people who feel that it is easy to be a blogger. All you need is to create a blog, start shooting photos using a camera, write something and publish it.
No, you’re wrong. Every post that is published requires a lot of hardwork.
I started blogging in July 2007 (gosh, it has been that long) and there are many times which I want to give up. But I am truly glad that all these experiences did make me understand my expectations better. It’s time for a change, I guess.
To be frank, language hasn’t been my forte. It’s heartening to hear compliments about my photos, but nothing is complete without the beauty of words. I spent more than 10 years of my education dealing with numbers and formulas. I can’t really remember how did I manage to survive my thesis writing in university.
I will still keep to my short and simple writing style, but hopefully I’m able to do more than food reviews. (Promise, there will definitely be more exciting things coming up!)
I am taking a big leap of faith, please pardon me for any grammatical errors along the way. Feel free to drop me a mail or talk to me in twitter if there’s anything you want to tell me. I would love to hear from you.
Miss Tam Chiak will not be what it is today without all of you. Thank you for staying with me.
