First of all, you just can’t miss their early bird discount! Imagine a whopping 30% discount off their Lo Hei sets (while stocks last)! Colour us amazed. We were also pleasantly surprised to learn that The Soup Spoon has made tossing yu sheng a very inclusive activity as the brand is Halal certified. This means that all of us, including our Muslim friends and colleagues, can come together for a fun and auspicious lo hei!

Now, some of us might be a little concerned about what goes into the dressing that is poured over our lo hei platter, as we should be. And, we are pleased to report that The Soup Spoon’s rendition is a healthy one made of sustainably-sourced ingredients such as pumpkin seeds, toasted almonds, fresh arugula, quinoa, 100g smoked salmon, vibrant ribbons of finely-julienned vegetables, calamansi and their bestselling house-made ume wafu vinaigrette. Designed to be a healthy indulgence, the refreshing and light lo hei is inspired by The Soup Spoon’s food ethos of championing an affordable, clean-eating option that promotes a healthy lifestyle.

If you need to get a last minute yu sheng for an office lunch or cosy gathering, fret not. Simply head to any of The Soup Spoon outlets, which are all conveniently located, and grab an affordable and presentable yu sheng to go. You don’t even need to call to reserve! The lo hei set is plated in a circular tray, sealed with a lid and self-contained in a die-cut box packaging with carry handles, and condiments are packaged individually. Auspicious greetings adorn the box which come complete with instructions on assembly. You can choose to plate the ingredients on a separate plate, or toss to a greater new year straight out of the box! We adore the convenience and fuss-free packaging because this literally means we can decide to lo hei at 9pm, rush to The Soup Soon immediately, get a lo hei set, and have a lo hei sesh at a park bench right away.

How cool is that?

Now, if you love lo hei and often wish that you can have just a single serving on your own, you might like The Soup Spoon’s Mini Lo Hei ($8.80) which comes in a bowl, fully-assembled with key ingredients from the main Auspicious Lo Hei Set. Expect springy glass noodles and leafy greens of arugula, quinoa, mandarin oranges, sunflower seeds, smoked salmon slices and a housemade ume wafu
Vinaigrette.

We enjoyed their yu sheng, and we hope you will too!
