Nestled within a quiet neighborhood kopitiam in Bedok, Meaty Western caters to the cravings of both night owls and food enthusiasts alike. At the helm is the skilled 33-year-old, Andy Wee, who whips up a mouthwatering array of Western delights, served until the late hours of 2 a.m.

A star on the menu is the renowned Chicken Chop ($7.50). The meat, tender and meticulously marinated, is grilled to perfection that takes you back to those cherished old-school flavors.

Now comes the dilemma: mushroom sauce, black pepper sauce, or nacho cheese? My heart sings for the classic mushroom sauce, a nostalgic choice, while my buddies can’t resist the tempting nacho cheese drizzle.
Andy’s homemade coleslaw is a refreshing surprise made with finely-chopped cabbage, carrot, and red apples. Creamy yet zesty, thanks to the delicate notes of apple, it’s a delightful companion to the main dish. Just a word of advice – bring your appetite, as it’s a serving fit for hearty indulgence.

Quote “Miss Tam Chiak” and you’ll enjoy a fantastic 30% off all pasta dishes.

Pasta lovers, rejoice! Their menu offers a variety of options, including Grilled Dory Fish Pasta ($9), Breaded Chicken Cutlet Pasta ($8), Lamb Pasta ($14), Truffle Mushroom Pasta ($8) and more, ensuring everyone finds their pasta match.

The Assorted Seafood Pasta ($9) takes center stage with its generous offering of succulent prawns and juicy clams. We went for aglio olio, and oh boy, what a treat! The pasta is cooked till al dente and the garlic is enticingly fragrant, while a gentle kiss of chilli brings forth a cozy warmth.

And here’s the kicker – quote “Miss Tam Chiak” and you’ll enjoy a fantastic 30% off all pasta dishes.

Of course, a visit to Meaty Western wouldn’t be complete without ordering the robust meats. The Grilled Salmon with Mentaiko Sauce ($15.50) steals the spotlight. Cooked to succulent perfection, it’s generously coated with Andy’s homemade mentaiko – a mix of tobiko, ebiko, and mayo – and kissed by a smoky torch.

If you prefer a more premium option, sink your teeth into a juicy, perfectly grilled Australian Marbled Steak ($17.50) that’s seared to mouthwatering perfection. The Mixed Grill Platter ($27), a carnivore’s dream, presents a tantalizing array of steak, lamb chop, grilled dory, and chicken chipolata.

Don’t forget to complement your meal with Andy’s signature homemade mushroom soup ($2 for add on, $2.50 for ala carte) – rich and textured, miles away from the usual canned suspects.

And now, for the secret insiders know – the exclusive Steak Burger ($18). This off-menu gem merges a beef burger with steak, featuring two juicy grilled steak pieces, melting cheese, and crisp lettuce. With each bite, the umami goodness of the steak dances with the gooey cheese, while the fresh crunch of lettuce seals the deal. This is one burger that’s an absolute showstopper and will likely make your mouth water just by looking at it.

Andy’s passion shines through, setting his Western food stall apart. From the meticulously seasoned meats to the homemade coleslaw and dipping sauces, his dedication brings an extra flair to the dining experience.
