JJ Lin’s Miracle Coffee Just Got Heartier — Now Serving New Savoury Bites at ArtScience Museum
July 31, 2025

You’ve probably already heard of Miracle Coffee — the specialty coffee brand by our beloved Singaporean singer JJ Lin. They have always been known for its stunning aesthetics, expertly brewed coffee, and that iconic cloud cake. But recently, something new has been quietly added to the mix — a full range of savoury items. Yes, JJ Lin’s beloved café has evolved beyond just sweet treats and specialty brews. Now, you can actually come here for a proper meal… and some of them are surprisingly good.
Located within the beautiful ArtScience Museum, this stunning space with its big glass windows, natural light, and peaceful energy has become a magnet for both locals and tourists alike. What started out as a spot for amazing brews has now grown into a full-fledged café experience with savoury eats that match up to the quality of its coffee. The new savoury selection is small but mighty.
If you’re here for a light bite, go for the rolls — the Prawn & Avocado Roll and the Crab Meat & Apple Slaw Roll are both refreshing, well-balanced options that work perfectly as pre-museum fuel or post-shopping pick-me-ups. They’re light, creamy, and filled with flavour, especially the apple slaw that gives a nice crunch to the crab meat.
For a heartier option, you’ll want to try their locally inspired pies. The Nyonya Chicken Pie has that aromatic rempah depth you’ll recognise from classic Peranakan stews, while the Beef Rendang Pie is rich and unctuous, with fall-apart beef folded into flaky pastry. But the sleeper hit? The Seafood Mentaiko Croissant Pie. We’ll be honest — it doesn’t look the most flattering when it comes out with the mentaiko sauce blanketing the top. But once baked, that same sauce melts beautifully into the seafood and buttery croissant layers, creating this savoury, creamy, umami-packed magic that will leave you wiping the crumbs off your plate.
For croissant lovers, go for the ones shaped like a pinwheel — a playful twist that still delivers on taste. Try the Beef Patty, Mushroom & Cheese Wheel Croissant, which is hearty and satisfying, or the Chicken Meatloaf, Egg & Cheese Wheel Croissant for a nostalgic, breakfast-style bite.
Craving something warm and comforting? The Baked Beef Ragout with Mashed Potato is savoury and soulful — like shepherd’s pie but Italian-style — while the Baked Pasta Pomodoro is tangy, cheesy and baked to golden, bubbly perfection.
Of course, everything here is crafted to pair well with the star of the show — the coffee. Miracle Coffee’s team sources some of the best single-origin beans around the world, and if you want to truly experience their expertise, go for the pour-over. It’s where their baristas shine.
If you’re a fan of washed coffees, the Bolivia Las Alasitas (Red Caturra varietal) delivers a crisp cup with notes of stone fruits and apples. It’s bright and clean, with a silky mouthfeel that makes each sip a delight. Prefer something a little floral? Try the Ethiopia Sidama Regassa — a naturally processed heirloom varietal that bursts with tropical fruit, floral aromatics, and a winey acidity. It’s complex, juicy, and almost tea-like in its finish — perfect for slow sipping and quiet contemplation.
The espresso-based drinks here are great as well, but the signature creations are where Miracle Coffee really shines. The Kaya Cloud is their take on an iced Americano — but topped with kaya cream and gula melaka shavings, it’s like your childhood toast order reimagined as a drink. Then there’s JJ’s Wonderland, a smoothie made with blueberry, banana and yoghurt — rumour has it, it’s JJ Lin’s go-to morning drink. Or try the Miracle Dream — an unexpectedly refreshing concoction of blue pea syrup, coconut water and espresso. It sounds like it shouldn’t work, but it does.
And whatever you do — save space for dessert. My personal favourite is the Cloud Cake. Shaped like a puffy white cloud, it holds within it a burst of sunshine — literally. Cut into it and you’ll reveal a vibrant orange core of mango and passionfruit purée, encased in a coconut mousse shell. The symbolism is beautiful — after every storm, there’s sunshine. It’s the dessert that lives up to the name: Miracle.
There’s also the boozy Tiramisu, made with a generous splash of rum and coffee brewed not with water — but with coconut water. That little tweak lends a gentle sweetness and tropical lift to this classic Italian treat.
Miracle Coffee has grown into so much more than a coffee stop. With its new savoury menu, it’s now a destination for casual brunches and mid-day comfort. Whether you’re a coffee geek, a pastry lover, or just someone in need of a quiet break — come, and let the miracle happen. Just the way JJ imagined it.
