Uncle Lee, the master baker behind these heritage treats, honed his craft as the head baker of the now-defunct Hock Ann Confectionery. With over 35 years of experience, he has established his own bakery on Jalan Pisang, conveniently located just a stone’s throw away from Bugis MRT. Currently, his two sons help with the baking, before customers and delivery partners pick them up.

Uncle Lee’s signature Kaya Pandan Cake is a must-try for anyone who has a sweet tooth. The cake features a soft and fluffy pandan sponge that is perfectly complemented by generous layers of rich and creamy kaya jam. The flavors are well-balanced, with just the right amount of sweetness, and the cake is beautifully moist and tender.

What really sets Uncle Lee Confectionery apart is their commitment to quality and authenticity. The kaya jam is made in-house according to a traditional recipe that has been passed down through generations, and you can taste the meticulous care that has gone into the making of the cake.

Another must-try is their Peanuts Vanilla Cake — a delightful fusion of Western and Asian flavors. A fluffy vanilla sponge cake is topped with a generous amount of crushed peanuts, creating a perfect balance of sweetness and nuttiness.

Their marble cake was absolutely delightful. The cake had a moist and fluffy texture, with a perfect balance of vanilla and chocolate flavours swirled together in a beautiful marbled pattern. What I loved most about this marble cake was how it wasn’t too heavy or overwhelming, making it the perfect dessert to enjoy after a meal or with a cup of tea.
